The AVCRAD (Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot) is a helicopter Limited Depot Repair Unit. They repair helicopter components and airframes that the normal aviation units are not allowed to do. They support helicopters from 14 states, Maine to Virgina and out to Ohio. Their mission in theatre is to support not just the National Guard aviation units but active duty units also. They are the Theatre Aviation Maintenance Program (TAMP) and provide theatre-wide Supply Support (SSA) for aviation parts. They are supporting the Warfighter from three areas: Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The 1109th AVCRAD is one of Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon's "home units" and we are proud to support their brave efforts.
