Our adoptee is married to one of the wonderful folks at Pepsi Lipton Partnership, one of AaSP's Super Supporters. We are honored and privileged to support SFC H. and his team! The team supports the deployment of an unmanned vehicle called the "Shadow." The Shadow provides surveillance for our troops and local Iraqi police and Army and is critical to keeping the peace in the area.

SFC H. is with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment (Devils in Baggy Pants) stationed in southern Iraq. Here is what he had to say when we picked him up:
"We rolled into Iraq at height of a very warm summer last year, temperatures averaged 118-130F, for a bunch of North Carolina boys it was very uncomfortable. It's flat here and we usually get large sand storms that roll in from Saudi Arabia. On bad days the sand plume will exceed 10,000 AGL with about 100' visibility. On days like that even the bad guys stay home.
Our Glider Regiment is the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, I served with them in Afghanistan in 2002. Both the 325th AIR and the 504th PIR served with distinction in Operation Market Garden. Their Regimental Colors are decorated with many battle streamers and the Regiments draw their history and lineage from Operation like Market Garden, the Invasion of Normandy, the combat jump into Salerno, Holland and many others. The type of warfare has changed from Linear to Asymmetrical in the conventional and unconventional arenas, but the soldiers remain the same. 18 to 22 year old kids putting it all on the line for Family, Duty, Honor and Country."
