Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon is proud to support the warriors and staff at Walter Reed AMC. This year, we partnered with DHL Express and the Nassau County, NY, Girl Scouts to help them send two skids of Girl Scout cookies to staff and patients there.
On a visit to the hospital on April 2, 2010, we were privileged to meet some of the staff and wounded warriors, as well as witness a Welcome Home ceremony for hospital soldiers coming back from the theater. During the visit to one of the wards, we met a soldier from the 4ID who asked for some "All American" teddy bears and supporters of AaSP are sending them in as part of our new Operation Teddy Bear. In a few weeks, AaSP will be delivering them personally.
On April 2, 2010, Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon delivered 100 phone cards, each with 22 hours of calls on it, for the wounded warriors there.
