Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon has been supporting the Combat Support Hospitals that run the Ibn Sina Hospital in Baghdad for years. Our first adoptee there was Dr. Douglas H. of the 31st CSH, then it was MAJ Dennis L. of the 86th, MAJ Linda M. of the 10th and our support grew and grew. Goodies for the female nurses and staff, flight pillows for the patients, exercise mats, wireless internet hardware, food snacks, personal care items, Xboxes, games, camcorders, Flips, DVD players and most recently, art supplies to help Chaplain M. with his "Colors of Life" art classes for soldiers stressed by war (see below for some recent pictures). The medical and staff personnel at our CSH's do an incredible job and it is our honor and privilege to support them.

This is the second time AaSP has supported the 10th CSH in Iraq (see below). Our support of the current team includes both Ibn Sina and Tallil locations. We have sent a sound system, art supplies, DVD players, XBox games, flight pillows and other items for staff and patients.
Previously, during the last deployment of the 10th CSH, our contact was MAJ Linda M., R.N., operating room nurse. Linda was great to work with. And our support of Ibn Sina grew. Unilever brands Suave, Ponds, Caress and Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion gave us products for the female nurses. Additionally, we worked with the CIO there, MAJ Barry R., to provide a catalyst to enable wireless internet to be deployed throughout the facility. We sent $2,100, which helped encourage an outside supplier to install equipment on site and we were able to provide wireless Internet to 35 of the lower-ranking soldiers in the hospital. Support of the Ibn Sina Hospital increased and we were even more rewarded by doing so.
