C Troop was officially released on Saturday, June 23, 2007, after a wonderful welcome home ceremony at Fort Dix.
The 5-117th Cavalry (NJ Army Natl Guard) had an important mission in Iraq, being attached to the 1-167 RSTA. They were responsible for one of the large base's Entry Control Points. We know how dangerous and important a mission this was and we are especially proud to have supported this team while it was deployed in Iraq.
We are fortunate to have wonderful and generous sponsors and individual contributors, that allowed us to send an InFocus projector to this unit. Paragon Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Montvale, NJ, raised a good sum of money from employees and members at its nine branches to support the NJ Army Natl Guard and not only was AaSP able to buy the projector for C Troop but office supplies (printer cartridges) as well.
