Our Adoptees:
CPT Frank B.
SSG Corey M.
AaSP NOTE: We had the privilege of supporting the 35th ASG in 2006. We connected to the 35th thru MAJ N. of the 29th, who said that the 35th had responsibility of managing the MWR facilities throughout LSA Anaconda. Our support included providing Anaconda's softball league with softballs (we sent 12 dozen) and bases (sent several sets, including an NCAA regulation set). We were thrilled to support the activities of this base, where 25,000 Americans temporarily call it their home. The bases were shot. Home plate was miserable. And the field had a lot of gravel so it chewed up softballs like candy. Our good friends at Efinger Sporting Goods sold us nice softballs at cost and we were off and running.
And it was CPT B. who had the idea to provide blank DVDs for all the troops on Anaconda so they could make videos and send them home for the holidays. Well, that project is well underway and Fuji Photo Film has donated all 25,000 blank mini DVDs, Bridgestone/Firestone of North Jersey donated $3,000 to help, DHL provided a very special freight rate 'door to door' from the Fuji warehouse to Camp Anaconda and the Pepsi Lipton Partnership (PLP), the business that produces all the Lipton "ready to drink" bottled teas, generously is picking up the ENTIRE freight tab for the shipment of the 10,000 DVDs - that's $7,232.09. We are extremely grateful to PLP and all our sponsors of this project for their selfless generosity and patriotism to help in this endeavor to provide such a great service to our troopos for the holidays!
