| Live Xmas tree decorates the 86th CSH in Mosul. The tree was donated by friends of DHL and shipped by DHL to many units in Iraq and Afghanistan, including some of AaSP's adoptee units such as the 86th. The trees will bring some comforts of home and faith to our troops far from home. Thanks DHL! |

This is the second time Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon is supporting the 86th CSH. We supported them when they replaced the 31st CSH in 2006. Now the 86th is back after replacing the 28th CSH.
HISTORY: The 86th CSH originally replaced the 31st CSH at Ibn Sina. We were given the name of Maj. L., the head nurse in the operating room there. As it turns out, Dennis was featured on the HBO Special, "Baghdad ER," that aired in 2006. The special illuminated the work the medical and support staff does at Ibn Sina. Dennis shared our goodies with the staff and patients at the hospital and our admiration and gratitude for these dedicated men and women grew immensely. Dennis and his wife Judy were both nurses at the hospital. They have since been redeployed to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and we are proud to continue to support Dennis and his fine comrades and the patients that are sent to Landstuhl.
