As of 12 February 2012:
One of our projects right now (as of 17 January 2012) is creating some KIA Bracelets for Battle Buddies. We have several units that have lost American Heroes and the bracelets are important reminders of their Fallen Heroes and they help the Warriors deal with these tragic losses.
(Recent contributors to our KIA Bracelet fund include: the LT Dennis W Zilinski II Foundation; Em N; Lou T; Joe and Jenn F; Henry N; 10th MTN DIV Assn; Ken J; Lara S; Bill S; Melanie P; Elizabeth G; Lennie E; Mea L; FFAAFF; Robin J; 1L; 2Ls; Wayne S; Konrad S; John K; Mark N; American Legion Norwood NJ Post 272; Paul and Margaret T; Bob G; R J G; Cathy and Fred S; Carol W; Robert B and family; Jack and Nancy K; Blue Star Mothers #3 of NJ; Rainer and Joy M; ... hope you can join us in raising money to help our Warriors deal with the loss of their Battle Buddies. Thank you.)
We have been supporting military hospitals since shortly after we started Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. We've supported doctors, nurses and staff in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany and, of course, Walter Reed and Bethesda at home. Now we are proud to say we are supporting Combat Stress Units down range as well!
We now have TBI and PTSD Clinics in AFG that give our Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors and Marines the care they need for trauma right near the Battlefield. This is a great thing. We also just received contacts for four Wounded Warrior Barracks for Marines in AFG.
We will post pictures and info as we receive them. Right now we can tell you that the Marines in the Wounded Warrior Barracks enjoy oatmeal packs, trail mix, crackers and other healthy snacks. They have enough candy and junk food. They can also use t-shirts and sweat pants as the weather is getting colder and some patients arrive with just a space blanket from transport.
The TBI Clinic currently needs sweatpants/sweatshirts, or Army PT pants; hand warmers; cup of noodles soup; black gloves; darts; febreze; plastic (microwaveable) bowls and cups; men's magazines (not too risquee please!), hoodie sweatshirts.
We shipped the TBI Clinic and PTSD Clinic five TRXs each, thanks to our friends at TRX. With your help, we can show all our Warriors we care folks and send them a lot more stuff! Thanks!
