This year we weren't able to visit the Middle East to entertain our troops there. So we came up with another idea -- let's cheer them up at home! We are working on a plan now to have another Madden Football video tournament, complete with Cheerleading by the First Ladies of Football, the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders; Giveaways and prizes; Tennis demonstrations on mobile courts by the US Tennis Association and Live Entertainment. In effect, we want to bring a two-day happening to some of our bases and installations in the US so our warriors can enjoy the show they couldn't get in AFG or IRQ.
The following bases are being considered for later this year/first half of next year: Camp LeJeune; Fort Bragg; Fort Campbell; Fort Drum; Hunter AAF; JBMDL; MacDill AFB; the National Medical Center in Washington, DC; and Norfolk NS (USS Eisenhower).
Last month, our president Alan Krutchkoff took a 11-day fact-finding trip to several bases in the Southeast to survey the interest and feasibility of such a tour. We think the reaction was extra-special and we're working on an official plan now to deliver to Forts Bragg and Campbell; Hunter AAF; Camp LeJeune and the USS Eisenhower.
The following benefactors/partners/supporters have already shared their interest with us to help in this worthwhile endeavor: Unilever Military Sales; Atlas Air Worldwide; Microsoft Xbox 360; the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders; the USO and the US Tennis Association. We will be talking with more agencies, companies and organizations in the near future and we'll keep you posted! This is going to be great!!!
See below for some pictures from the fact-finding tour, which included visits to our old friends at the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell and former adoptees, the "Outcasts," at Hunter AAF, as well as pics from Fort Bragg and Camp LeJeune. Additionally, as luck would have it, one the day he was at Fort Campbell, the 52d EOD Group (Paladins) came home and Krutchkoff was able to visit with TF CO COL Tom Langowski and CSM Robert Hockstaedler. CPT Nicole Zupka, a former hometown resident, was also there!
