| American hero aboard the IKE: During the USA Tour event aboard the IKE, we gave an AaSP patch to a Sailor whom we had previously met at the Kuwait EMF in 2010 on the way to AFG! PO2 Dustin Buterbaugh recognized AaSP Pres. Alan Krutchkoff and a great reunion was made. Dustin not only got over his illness but won the push up contest aboard the IKE and is now in great shape! We are so proud of you Dustin and it was SO GREAT to meet you again!!!! |

| AaSP had the honor and priviledge to support the "IKE" when it deployed to the Middle East a few years ago as part of Operation Atlas. Now we have the chance to personally thank the Sailors and Aviators aboard her!

"We had a BLAST with you and the entire Adopt a Soldier Platoon team!! Thank you so much for coming out to IKE and supporting the Sailors. They loved every minute of your visit and the entertainment was over the top! TOUCHDOWN!! If anyone is incredibly grateful, it's us. Thanks for being wonderful Americans and supporting the troops. We could ask for no more and appreciate it above all else. Just knowing that people appreciate and care means the world to the Sailors on IKE." CAPT. Marcus Hitchcock, Commanding Officer, USS Dwight D Eisenhower, 4 Apr 2012

It was time to salute our Sailors aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (USS IKE), CVN-69! We brought them an exciting array of events, headlined by our X Bowl Madden Xbox 360 Football Video Tournament with variety show and cheering by the First Ladies of Football, the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders; add to that tennis demonstrations and a "USS IKE Tennis Open" on a mobile court supplied by the US Tennis Association and Sport Court; a fitness competition based on the TRX Force Kit that was a huge hit; and live entertainment from Brother Gravity, a country/rock quartet associated with Fire Fighters Assisting Armed Forces Families --- and you have an outstanding event for our Sailors and Aviators aboard the USS Ike.
Microsoft Xbox supplied Xbox 360 consoles with Kinect; EA supplied plenty of copies of Madden 12 and some other games for our Sailors and Aviators; US Tennis Association and Sport Court shipped aboard a complete mobile tennis court that was installed on board; TRX donated 30 TRXs and sent a trainer to work with the ship's Fit Boss; Ten Gun Design created very cool t-shirts, posters and banners with the help of Leatherback, all from the State of Washington; and Brother Gravity (from North Carolina) rocked and rolled! It was so very cool!!!
We also received support from: Unilever's Military Sales Team who supplied cash donation and samples and trial size products for our Sailors; Atlas Air Worldwide who supplied cash donation as they have in previous Tour events; Bryan Cave Law, providing $$$ support for extra t-shirts and other goodies; Coffee Associates supplied initial sacks of coffee and will continue to support the ship with gourmet "America's Cup of Coffee" brand. Leatherback supplied banners and posters. It was AMAZING!!!! Thanks all!
This happened 1-3 April 2012, thanks to the organizations and companies below.
