Dear patriot, Thank you very much for your support and the box of Goodies. The platoon is very appreciative for all you do to show your support. Your thoughtfulness has been tremendous and very heart felt. You've taken time out of your busy schedule to support us during our deployment. We drudge through the gloom that is Afghanistan and dream of the day we are back home with our friends and family; we try and stay as busy as we can to help our time here move faster but it is truly your support and kindness that makes time move the fastest and the easiest. I like to tell you a little about us and what we do so you can at least know who your support is going to. We are a reserve unit out of Orlando Florida, the 689th Engineer Route Clearance Company (2 platoon). As you already know we are in the Kunar province of Afghanistan and our job here is to clear the roads of IED (roads side bombs). As an RCP (route clearance patrol) we know that it’s not if we are going to get hit by an IED but when. The unfortunate truth of our jobs is that out of 10 IEDs found about 6 will be found the hard way. This is just the reality of it but our vehicles are very well armored and designed to take the hit. We all know the danger of our job but we would not give it up for the world. Some call us crazy but I guess you would have to be a little bit crazy to knowingly put yourself in harm’s way. None the less we are all proud of what we do. Your support only validates and encourages us to continue doing what we do. Thank you once again for your support. SSG Ricardo J, 29 Jan 2012

My name is SGT Joshua D, US Army, and I recently received the package that you sent from the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon! Life on this half of the Earth certainly has it ups and downs, especially after being away from the comforts of home for so long. We've met many new people from different countries all over the globe and have established relationships that will last a lifetime. However, with good comes some bad, a fact that was aknowledged and accepted when we US troops chose to raise our right hands and swear to defend our country against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. That being said, the package that you sent helped raise the morale of me and my teammates with whom I shared it during this Christmas season! We all feel a sense of loss, as we're not able to be with our families and loved ones this year, but your contribution and good will definitely helped raise our morale and, for that, I'm forever thankful to you and those who helped put the package together! I have to admit, when I first arrived in Afghanistan, I thought that I would be here in this remote setting with a few guys to watch my back and little correspondance. However, you and your group have continued to show us that we are NOT alone here and that our fellow Americans back at home are right alongside us with your support and generosity. I was relieved to be proven wrong! :) Again, you and your team have been a blessing on our deployment and holiday season! Thank you so much for all that you do for us over here. I apologize for not sending a photo, but that is something I will remedy in the near future when I'm able to. Keep up the great work and please pass our appreciation on to everybody who is involved in making our lives over here at least a little better each day. God bless you all. Respectfully, SGT D, Joshua D. US Army, 98th Div, 7 January 2012
I
apologize for the delay in my writing; time and internet connections
are hard to come by out here. I just wanted to thank you for the package
you and your friends sent. Myself and others have attacked the goodies
and are enjoying whatever has been left after the original ransacking,
haha. Everything here is going well, and quickly, too. We've already
been here a few months and the time is really flying by. We feel like
we'll be home in no time. Just to give you some insight as to what we're doing...We're an
explosive ordnance disposal company, we work with the army to get rid of
IEDs (roadside bombs) in the area we're in. It's fun and rewarding. I'm
happy to be doing it! I'm going to try to attach a couple of photos, but the internet here is
so abysmally slow that I fear they might not get uploaded properly. If
this comes through bare, I apologize. Thank you again. It's nice to know we're being thought of. Sam R, 28 Dec 2011 Editor's note: Sam is in the unit that suffered huge losses on 5 January and we all pray for strength and peace for the families and Battle Buddies of the three Fallen Heroes.
We got the box today from you. Wow! The magazines are useful in the
waiting rooms, the candy is great as well as the wrapped gifts.
Everything else is wonderful. Thank you and Snell & Wilmer L.L.P.
very much and have a Happy New Year! See the attached pic of some of us! (pix is shown in Combat Care). MAJ Raul D, AFG, 28 Dec 11
Thank you all for your time, efforts, thoughtfulness, prayers/positive thoughts, and gratitude you packed into each box you sent us! We thoroughly enjoyed receiving the boxes from you. We thank you!!! On behalf of all the For all the soldiers, airmen, sailors, Marines, DOD civilians, and contractors assigned to the Regional Support Center-North, Camp Spann, Northern Afghanistan, we send this small token of our thanks and gratitude to Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon (the attached signed thank you card). The card has a handful of the men and women assigned to RSC-N being ourselves. Sincerely, JD, Camp Spann, AFG, 27 Dec 2011

Merry Christmas! The TRX units arrived in time
for Christmas and I have made sure that they have gotten directly into
the hands of our troops who are dying to use them. The
first couple sets went into the mini-gym here at the Kandahar Role III,
two more went over to the Role II/motorpool here in Kandahar. I brought
a set over to one of the Army units here who have a high number of
wounded warriors either recovering here or making their way back out
after recovering. I have another one i'm sending out to Tarin Kowt in RC
South where we have a Role II mixed forces clinic and i'm waiting to
hear from our local Special Forces boys to get some there. These
things are like gold, the soldiers love them and they are already
getting heavy usage everywhere I sent them. I will get some pictures for
you of them in action to make sure TRX knows that their generosity was
HUGELY appreciated. Sincerely, Ralph P, AFG, 26 Dec 2011

Merry Christmas and THANK YOU all for the gifts and for thinking of us. I shared everything with all of my co workers and even gave some to our Afghan partners! We appreciate everything more than we can express in words. It starts with getting mail, knowing that you were one of the few that day that got mail is great in itself. Followed by opening it to find out it is snacks, goodies and presents not even from a family member, just from a person or group that is looking to brighten your day. Followed by having more than enough to share with your friends and co workers so they don't feel left out! This can be a lonely time for all of us but you have done all that somebody can do to make it just a little more like home. Thank you! V/R SSG Robert R. C. III Paktika AFG 25 Dec 2011
Thanks for the great package I just received today...just in time. Have a Happy Holiday! Dr. Raul D, AFG 24 Dec 2011

Sincerely yours, 1LT Christopher W, Executive Officer, C/3BSTB, 3IBCT, 3-10 MTN, AFG 24 Dec 2011 Below are some notes our Soldiers wished to relay to you all:

Thank you for your care packages to all of the Soldiers of Charlie Company. Mail call is always a special day when a deployed Soldier
receives mail. It is a tremendous morale booster. Your remembrance of our Soldiers during this time away from home means a lot. Merry Christmas! Warm regards, SFC H
Thank you for all your contributions to my platoon. We really appreciate your efforts. We enjoyed all the items and letters. Thank
you for your support. Sincerely, 1SG Kathy C, SGT Lisa C
We really appreciate your thoughtful gifts of candy, hygiene products and other items here at Charlie Company. It not only helps us out with products we have little or no access to, but it also reminds us we aren't alone. We are soldiers fighting for our families, friends and all Americans. I am writing this letter just to express my appreciation for everything you have done for us here. Sometimes being here can be a little hard and it's nice to know that someone is thinking of us back home. So thank you for all that you have done to try to give us some of the comforts we are missing from home. PFC C
I love your care packages! I really appreciate the time and resources you spent to send them to us. Thank you! CPL R

I'd like to thank you for supporting me while I've been deployed. It's nice knowing there are people in the United States that are keeping me in their prayers. Thank you for ensuring that I have what I need to stay healthy and continue to complete whatever mission is assigned to me. It is an honor and a privilege. Thank you, PV2 E
Thank-you for the care packages you have been sending us. The edibles have been a very nice break from a steady diet of army meals. The various hygiene items have provided much desired replacements to our individual hygiene kits. The packages have helped boost our moral and made us feel just a little closer to all of you back in the states. We appreciate the thoughtfulness, time, and money you have put into preparing these comfort items for us. SGT G
From the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon Organization, we at C 3BSTB, 3-10 MTN DIV appreciate all the care packages that you have sending us throughout the deployment. It has been a great morale booster for the soldiers here and we thank you whole-heartedly. I am the OIC for the Network Operations section of our company and all of us here wish you guys the Merriest of all Christmas and a Fantastic New Year! We will be back in the states soon to spend some quality time with all of our families and friends. CW2 S
Thank you for the very kind care packages you have sent. Your generosity is making a tremendous different in the lives and morale of Soldiers. Thank you for your support. SGT C
I would like to extend my gratitude for the care packages that we have received. Nothing brings up morale like mail and let me assure you that your packages are the best we've ever seen. It means a lot to us to be able to see how much thought you've put into the contents of your boxes. I just want to ensure you that you ARE making a world of difference to us, and it means so much to us that you have been taking this much of your time to put these boxes together for us. SPC G
We have received so many packages and wonderful letters and words of encouragement and understanding. I and everyone else appreciate this with all of our hearts. I cannot thank you enough for what you do for us. The support and letters are what fuel every day with that something special which keeps us going. Thank you and love everything all of you are doing. SSG N
Over the past couple months we have received packages from parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, etc. We have enjoyed them all very much, and we know that they care for us. However it takes a bigger heart and much more love to send things to people you have never met, or maybe even never heard about before. It is for that reason that we thank you for not only the care packages, but for your thoughts and prayers. Please continue to give. It is greatly appreciated. SPC M
Thank you so much for all the care packages you have sent over the past few months. We really appreciate it. It means so much to receive such nice things from complete strangers. Thank you for your support and thoughts. SPC H
On behalf of the soldiers of 2nd Platoon, C Company 3BSTB, 3-10th Mountain Division, I would like to thank you for your kindness and
generosity in sending care packages to our soldiers. Your simple act brings immeasurable joy to the young men here in Afghanistan who are so far from their loved ones back home. We are all grateful that so many people back home are thinking of us. Please continue to keep my Soldiers in your thoughts as we continue our deployment this holiday season. Sincerely yours, 2LT Nicholas McK 2nd Platoon Leader
I would like to personally thank you and all of those who participate in this wonderful organization. I know that while deployed, getting
packages in the mail is definitely one of a Soldier's highlights. You all have been great in sending us goodies and essentials from home to help us get through this year. Trust me, it does not go unnoticed. Though, we will be leaving shortly to return home to our loved ones and family please continue the great things that you all do in supporting the troops, and hope you guys make the next Platoon of Soldiers who begin to embark into their own journey over here will get the same joy out of all the care packages you send.
Sincerely, SSG R
Thank you very much for your thoughts, and gifts. Every little bit boosts our morale and gives us a little piece of home. Thank you very much. Sincerely, SPC M
Thank you for the packages we been receiving during our deployment. We can't thank you enough. Sincerely, SPC B

I also appreciate your gratitude for recognizing our sacrifice. The care packages that were sent meant a lot to us and definitely boosted our morale. Sincerely, SPC B
Thank you for all the kindness and all the packages that you sent to us all. This is a time of year when most soldiers are alone and it's their first deployment, so Thank you for giving them something to open and to know that there are people out there supporting us all.
SGT R

First off. I want to thank you and all that were involved in sending us
all the Christmas items, care packages, etc. We are doing our holiday
lunch today and all that was sent will be on display. I will be taking
pictures and will forward some to you so you can disseminate to all. Thanks again! v/r 1SG Carlos S, TF Med, AFG, 23 Dec 2011
There are reasons why certain people come into our lives, and
for now I am grateful just to have met you. I personally cannot thank you
enough for your personal contribution to the troops. You are very fortunate to
be able to touch so many lives, and bring so many smiles with your cause. I
know the time spent with firefighters, will be talked about for some time.
They and myself are all very appreciative. On behalf of all
the firefighters we thank you very much. I wish the best for you guys and all your future endeavors, and
hope that one day our paths will cross again. Happy Holidays to you and your families, MSgt Mark W, Deputy Fire Chief, 386th ECES/CEF, Kuwait 21 Dec 2011
I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for everything you and Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, Inc. did to make the Redskins Cheerleaders visit here happen. It was a terrific visit and it was much appreciated by my Airmen. I hope you all had a good trip here and safe travels home. Please take care and have a great Holiday Season! Lt Col Greg N, Kuwait, 21 Dec 2011
Many thanks to the Redskins Cheerleaders and the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon for supporting our troops. Most Soldiers I have overheard are saying that the Redskins performance was the best of the three cheerleader visits we've had here at Camp Patriot. The girls were friendly, energetic, beautiful and fun; and the two Al's from the adopt-a-soldier platoon were great and gave out so many prizes. I hope you all enjoyed your time here and enjoy the rest of your tour. 1LT Sean C, COR/PAO, 1-125 FA, KUW 21 Dec 2011
It was great to meet you and I wanted to
thank you so very much for gorgeous calendar! Having been a Redskin’s
fan since 1980…I can tell you that it is 100% COMPLETELY appreciated. You and the
ladies put on a great show, and please let them all know again how very
much we appreciated the opportunity to “get away from it all” for that
little bit of heaven. All the best, thank you for your service to our country. Until the next time. COL Mark K, 386th EMDG, Kuwait 21 Dec 2011
I would like to thank you and Adopt-a-Soldier on behalf of the 46
Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron for your untiring efforts in
helping raise the spirits of all the Airmen, Soldiers, Marines and
Sailors deployed out here. After having been deployed 9 times in my
career thus far, I can confidently say that this trip was the most
memorable for several reasons, most notably the way in which you and the
Redskins Cheerleaders interacted with the base population.
For various reasons that I can only speculate on, nearly every
morale tour headed by other organizations are much more limited,
consisting of a show or two, a couple of visits to a few base
organizations and then must move on. Honestly, that was all I expected
when I heard of the upcoming visit from the Redskins Cheerleaders. When
an NCO and I went to the show at the theater, the giveaways were
frankly unbelievable and the show was memorable for the audience
interaction. Even more memorable, however, was how the cheerleaders
comported themselves for the week following. Every time I visited the
chow hall, regardless of time, I saw the cheerleaders scattered around
the building, chatting with military members as they ate - and every one
of them had a big smile on their face, both the cheerleaders and the
military. Throughout the week, everywhere I went, I saw cheerleaders
interacting with the base population.
Your trip to our base was unmatched in raising the morale of the
entire population, particularly at this time of year when we're all away
from home. This is a testament to both yours and the Redskins
Cheerleaders Organization. We thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Sincerely, Capt Ryan O, 46 ERS, Kuwait, 19 December 2011
I would like to extend a most sincere and heartfelt thank you for your gracious Christmas present. It helps foster the Christmas spirit and the thoughts that during the holiday season, others are hoping we have a safe and happy holiday. I find it astonishing that during the holiday season with all the hustle and bustle to pull off Christmas at home for loved ones, others take the time to think about a Soldier thousands of miles away who has no direct ties to any of them. I have to say it is nothing but amazing what you all do for us here while we are away from our family and friends. Attached is a power point with some photos, I hope it's enough. In closing, I would like to say that your efforts are indicative of the finest qualities that make America the greatest nation on earth and make the men and women defending it proud to serve! 1SG Joe A, Paladins, AFG 18 December 2011
I just want to say thank you again on behalf of all of us here at the ISR Ops Division in Kabul, Afghanistan. It's actually starting to get
cold now, and we're expecting snow the next time we get some precipitation (uncommon except for Jan-Mar here). The gifts that your friends sent us were very well received, and we are now fatter for their efforts! Words don't always express how uplifting it can be to get a box in the mail - especially one you weren't expecting. Your packages are always a bright spot for us here, and we put all of its contents to good use. Especially the items that are high in sugar... Attached is a photo of us taken a month or so ago (I'm the bald dude in the front/left). We all appreciate what you do for us, and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! v/r, Lt Col Tyler M, ISR HQ ISAF, Kabul, Afghanistan, 17 Dec 2011 NOTE: Picture is in Misc Pics page.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate you getting the Redskins
Cheerleaders out to see the guys and getting us the exercise equipment
and coffee. It was definitely a good time for the guys. They needed
something like that after our rotation in Iraq. 17 Dec 2011
I would like to take the time to say thank you all from the bottom of my
heart. You made me smile! :) I enjoyed all the goodies in my box. May
God continue to bless you all. Have a "HAPPY HOLIDAY" and peace beyond
to you! The above attachment is a picture of me so you can put a name to
a face. (note- picture is on TF Paladin page) Sincerely, SGT M, 789th CO EOD, 17 Dec 2011
Thank you for all of your effort and support in sending care
packages our way! I am not the best communicator, but I will try my best
to respond in a more timely manner. I first received an
adopt-a-soldier platoon care package over a month ago, I have since shared each
package's contents with those around me. I assure you that they
appreciate them as well. This last package contained more of the great
coffee you all have been sending, my fellow soldiers I work with on
night shift enjoy it! All is well here in Bagram, we have it
easy compared to most others in country. I understand that you recently
spent some time with the Redskins cheerleaders in Kuwait, lucky guy! I
hope all is well and that you have a merry Christmas! - Sam J, 16 Dec 2011
You
often here soldiers say Thank You but, in this case they are not enough
to describe the kindness and generosity of your gifts. I have been
blessed so much of this Holiday season that your gifts came at the right
time and right moment, we have your shared your gifts with the Hospital
staff and patients. The rest of the items well they are their way to
Afghanistan to soldiers whose needs are great this season. So yes your
two boxes are a blessing this season to shared with soldiers going home
from Iraq, Soldiers here in Kuwait and Soldiers in Afghanistan. Take
care and God Bless! SPC John S, US Mil Hosp, KUW 15 Dec 2011
Really appreciate the gifts, thoughts and support for the Soldiers serving overseas during the Christmas Holidays. It has been a difficult deployment for all the troops, but it is with thoughtful words of encouragement and a little taste of home from our friends and family we have endured the tough times. Thanks again for having us in your prayers and look forward to the day we can call our mission complete and be back among our loved ones. God Bless and Happy Holidays from the Soldiers of the 716th EOD. 1SG Christopher R, AFG 15 Dec 2011
From a letter dated 11 Nov 11, recvd 13 Dec 2011: I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the generous support you have shown the men of Dark Horse Company while we have been deployed to Afghanistan. Your generosity has lifted the morale and spirits of my Soldiers and has allowed them to continue on their mission of spreading peace and stability throughout Afghanistan. Today we are celebrating Veterans Day here. This day serves as an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by countless men and women around the world who volunteer to deploy to dangerous places to fight for freedom. It is your continued thoughts, prayers and support that remind us what we are fighting for. Thank you for your continued support! Sincerely and Most Respectfully, Benjamin D, CPT, IN
I am writing you to express our appreciation for you recent hard work and for the donation of KIA bracelets for Combat Company 1st Battalion 32nd Infantry Regiment. The active support of adopt a platoon and yourself help us to continue our tradition of honoring our fallen comrades. Your gift of KIA bracelets will help establish a permanent and living memorial for Combat Company Soldiers, past, present, and future. These bracelets serve as a special reminder to our friends, family, and members of Combat Company for the ultimate sacrifice our fallen Soldiers made. We are grateful for your generosity and most importantly, your commitment to our mission. On behalf of 3rd Platoon and Combat Company, thank you for your generous support and best wishes to you and your families at Adopt a Soldier Platoon. Sincerely yours, SSG Gerald M, AFG, 13 Dec 2011

| The trees arrived yesterday causing quite a stir! Great story: Our office has a 2nd story outdoor staircase with a landing.. perfect spot for a tree. After picking a good one - I used the string to tie the tree to the railing in 3 places - it was perfectly straight. Went to chow and by the time I came back the tree was GONE. Nothing but the string that had been cut, and some branches. SO my commander and I made a sign that said "if you stole our Christmas tree, Santa knows and you will get nothing but coal- BAH HUMBUG"..... by this morning.. the tree was BACK and there was a note that said "Dear Santa, We are sorry, please forgive us, The Tree Snatchers" haha! Sign is back up saying "Thanks for returning the tree, your back on the good list"
Truth is - the trees were a great morale boost - and I heard another story of a tree being stolen in our Passenger Terminal - we got them another one no worries. It was awesome! Capt Kathleen S, Bagram AB, AFG, 11 Dec 2011

| I just wanted to thank you and everyone
that continues to support us. We truly appreciate everything we get and
thank you from the bottom of your heart. We live on a base that has no
PX, or store to purchase things. Everything we get we either buy it off
the streets here (which is not much because we are in the mountains) or
we fly someone to a base to get stuff. Even the mail we receive we have
to fly someone to get it.
Also, the support that we receive makes
it easier on my family. I tell my wife all the time, "you don’t need to
send anything, AASP has me covered". This is my third tour and AASP has
been supporting every unit I was with for all of my tours, one way or
another. I am truly thankful. Again, thank you for your continued support. SGM Paul W, AFG 12 Dec 2011

Your thoughtful care package was received, and distributed to members of the 438 Air Expeditionary Wing, here in Kabul, Afghanistan. It's a difficult time to be away from family and loved ones. Most of my airmen and soldiers are away for a full year. With that in mind, it's always wonderful to receive a reminder (like your care package) that good Americans support their troops, and are thinking of us. Many a long day get erased (temporarily) by some treats from home. On behalf of the men and women of the 438th AEW, please accept my heartfelt thanks for your support. Kindest regards (and Merry Christmas!) Lt Col Chris S, 438 AEW 11 Dec 2011
I just want to say thank you on behalf of the men and women of my unit for the package and support. All the items will go to good use and truly make this time of year seem a little normal in the conditions they are working in. Please pass along our gratitude to all of those who helped and made this possible. Happy Holidays. V/r GARY U, SMSgt, USAF, 466 EOD OL-B, AFG 11 Dec 2011
To everyone who prepared the beautiful Christmas
box for me – a big thank you for making my day. My commander and I were
out visiting some of the troops around the base, came back in and I
found the box on my chair. One of the nicest things in the box was a
beautiful photo of Samantha DeStefano with a very nice letter. I will be
writing to her personally next. We have been very spoiled by Adopt A
Soldier and it makes a real difference to know that America has our
back! I share everything and really appreciating your time and effort
into this program. Thank you
all, very much, for everything. We are doing GREAT things here in
Afghanistan. I am proud to be here, and proud to be part of the United
States. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakauh and Happy New Year to you and
your families! PS I have 2 young sons and wonderful husband at home and I should make it home in January if all goes as planned! KATHLEEN S,Capt,USAF,10 Dec 2011
Hello to everyone. We all just wanted to send you
all a big “Thank you!” for all that you do for us back home. I have
attached a couple of pictures of with some of our dog handlers and one
of our dogs “Crash”. We hope you all enjoy the holidays. Thank you all
once again. Best wishes, Byron P, AFG, 10 Dec 2011
On behalf of the Female Engagement Team here in
Afghanistan, thank you all for your overwhelming support. We have
received so many packages that the Marines are out of space to store the
plentiful items you have sent our way and they want for nothing. What a
wonderful problem! Due
to the draw down, we are sending several Marines home early. There may
be more leaving in the coming months but we don’t know for sure. As a
result of all of the packages we have received and our reduced numbers,
we ask that these packages please be redirected to another military unit
in an effort to get them to troops who may be without support.
Additionally, we are expecting our address to be shut off sometime next
month, and we don’t want to see any resources wasted. Thank
you again for the support. It has been very humbling and appreciated
more than you could possibly know. We wish you all many blessings over
the holiday season. SSG Brea W, AFG, 10 Dec 2011
I recently got my TRX kit from you guys and I can't be more excited about breaking it out. Due to the current weather we have been having we haven't set it up yet but I plan on finding a place somewhere around here to get it started. Thank you all so much for continuing to take care of us. I appreciate all that you do for those of us stuck in the sand box. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones. Cheers, Joshua D, TSgt USAF, AFG 9 December 2011
Thank you for the X-Mas gifts. I love the singing YooHoo & Friends. I will hang the Big Red X-Mas Card on the wall. May God Bless us all. Thank you again. V/R SFC Kenneth H, 3-401ST AFSBn, AFG 9 December 2011
Just wanted to let you know we've received the Holiday box! Thank you so much! The Communications Section here in Kabul Afghanistan has taken all the goodies and shared them out. We've hung the lights, garland, and stocking with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon will be here! We all truly appreciate the support and time you've given us in doing such a nice thing. Many thanks for your thoughts of kindness to us and we hope your Holidays are enjoyable and rewarding. Thank you again for your show of support!!! V/r MAJ Hans H, AFG, 9 Dec 2011
Thanks for the hook up! Wanted to say thanks on behalf of the whole platoon, we'll send some pictures when we get them up! We're a route clearance company that is called to clear the routes of IEDs all over the Helmand region. Often we live out of our trucks for over a week, so the TRX is perfect. These arrived just in time for us to pack them up with our gear as we are moving to smaller post. 1LT Joshua S, 571 Sappers, AFG 11-30-11
Thank you so much for the TRX machines- I am already cooking up contests to distribute these awesome surprises. HHHMM...physical fitness score? Rubik's cube times, GITMO Jeopardy? The possibilities are endless! Thank you again- All the Best from Sunny GTMO, JP, 25 November 2011
Just received a batch of 10 TRXs today!! Awesome. I have passed out 2 to HHC and 2 to our Rock company. When we arrive to our new FOB's I will send the remaining 6 out to Venom and Able Company. Photos will come...but it will take about 30 days for us to finish the move and RIP into the new battlespace. Thanks again guys for the amazing support for our Soldier Atheletes. This is a great item to keep them fit both deployed and in garrison. Thanks again. CSM Brian W, AFG, 25 Nov 2011

I just got another SUPERHUGE box of candy = I can say one thing - people are loving us right now! We are spreading M & M's like crazy! Ms Foster - thank you so much!! You have no idea how the "big size" M & M's were a hit. On a serious note, we are sharing everything with as many as we can. Our Chaplin, "Chappy" is one of the nicest people I have met - and he works in my area. He goes out to visit our very junior airman - the ones who are in the USAF a short time and passes out the candy to them -says a prayer or just talks to them. We are very grateful for your efforts.....Thank yoU! Since we just took this pic yesterday I am sharing! Thanks again.... CPT Kathleen S, Bagram AB, AFG 25 Nov 2011
Thanks for all the packages..we are very grateful for all you do for us. Happy belated Thanksgiving. LTC Gregory P, 401st AFSB, AFG 25 Nov 2011

Thank you for all the care packages from your organization! They have definitely helped with our deployment away from our loved ones! I am actually coming back home in the next few days. I have attached a few pictures of some of us and your care packages! I also attached a picture of our entire unit! Thanks again for everything! It means a lot to all of us that organizations like yours exist to send care packages to help us along with our deployments. v/r, JONATHAN A, Capt, USA, Kabul, AFG, 25 Nov 2011 (See below for pictures)

From
Wardak, Afghanistan........ Thank you and I wish you and everyone back there a
happy and wonderful Thanksgiving! Ours is almost over - it's early evening and
all is well and safe.Your
continued, unwavering support to our soldiers is commendable at a minimum - we
appreciate the Home Front Heroes! R, SGM Paul W, 24 Nov 2011
I find it hard to put into words how thankful I am for all the support that you have given us over the last 11 months. You thoughts, prayers, cards, and gift packages have meant the world to us. The treats that you sent have brightened the day of all the soldiers who came by our Free-X. We have distributed over 25,000(!) pounds of treats and toiletries (not to mention countless cards and pictures) to over 1200 soldiers and civilians.
The Lord has been good and gracious to us. We have unfortunately lost three soldiers and had over 129 wounded in action over this year. Please keep them and their families in your prayers. The soldiers of TF Ramrod have made a difference in this war. Their professionalism, commitment, and discipline have been an inspiration to me and the others who know what they do every day. These soldiers are truly America's pride and joy.
The fighting remains at a high tempo and will until the day we leave this area of Afghanistan. Our focus remains strong. Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Respectfully,
Michael F, TF Ramrod Chaplain, 23 Nov 2011
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the care package you sent me. I really love coffee and the Columbian Coffee you sent is amazing! It really boosts morale. There are a bunch of us here that get together and drink coffee every morning and start the day off right. We are all enjoying the coffee you sent! I am even more thankful for the support that you give us. It seems that right after 9/11 everyone was flying American Flags and showing patriotism in their own way. But soon after the support started to die off and it wasn't "cool" anymore to support the troops. Sir, you are a true American and a true patriot! There are very few that continue to support us and show that they believe in what we are doing. I understand that everyone isn't going to agree with all of the politics of war, I don't agree with everything, but I love doing my job. Supporting the troops is a whole separate issue and I am very, very thankful for people like you that will always support us. Thank you! Respectfully, Landon 1SG Landon J, EOD, AFG 11 Nov 2011
Just
received your kind gift of coffee for my Company and the team was
ecstatic, to say the least! This will surely keep the men and women
going and give them “a buzz.” Thanks
you so much for your kind gesture! It’s the thoughtfulness of you, and
folks like you, that keep the spirits high and the goals in sight! Respectfully, SMSgt Chris S, AFG 6 Nov 2011
Wow
we had so much fun last night. We used the decorations all over the
dorms (we have two large two story dorms). I didn't get a picture of my
door (I like it the best!) but I will today before I take it all down.
There were pumpkins and ghosts and spiders, etc. all over! Some of the
girls were working and couldn't make it, and some were too shy to dress
up, but the group of us that did dress up (and a few guys too) had a
blast. We took all of the candy you guys sent, plus more that others
sent in as well, and went door to door in the dorms "reverse" trick or
treating. We would yell trick or treat and then offer them candy.
Everyone truly enjoyed it and most came out of their rooms taking
pictures of us and thanking us for the candy and laughs. So all in all,
you guys helped us make over 350 troops, US and NATO smile. Please
tell everyone that was involved in putting the boxes together for us
that we appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts, and share the
photos with them. Thank you so much! MSgt Sonya C, 438th AEW, AFG, 1 November 2011

Thank you again for your unwavering support of our Soldiers. Our FST (Forward Surgical Team) received several more boxes from your organizaiton, and several boxes of tennis equipment. What a surprise that was! Our MWR is looking to make the FOB some sort of level concrete area so we can set t up. With the weather cooling off we are looking forward to being outside more - the temperature is down to about 100 degrees. Good Times !!. Things are ok here - still steady supply of surgica patients - unfortunately. But we are on the downhill slope of the deployment. Only a few weeks left to go and many things to do with packing conexes, cleaning and stacks of paperwork. Everyone is anxious to get home. Again, we thank you for your incredible support of time, money and resources. You are wonderful. Sincerely, COL Kim F, AFG
Thank you for your generosity & sending all the personal hygiene products. The products were divided between the Soldiers & the Marines. Well appreciated! Thanks again, COL Lawrence M, TF 115, Chief Nurse, AFG 23 Sept 2011
Hey Ya'll, I'm so happy to hear from ya'll. I want to thank ya'll for the cookies, are awesome! Thank for you the t-shirts and socks. So thoughtful! We appreciate your support and your kindness. Take Care, Love Ceci C, AFG, 22 Sept 2011
I want to thank you personally and the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders for the donation of teddy bears, phone cards and video games. This wonderful gift will contribute immensely to the morale of our wounded warriors and their families here at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Again, thank you for this wonderful gift and your continued recognition and support of our brave men and women who serve this great Nation. Sincerely, M L Nathan, Rear Adm, Medical Corps, US Navy 14 September 2011
I
received a care package from the Adopt a Soldier Platoon this week and
wanted to take a moment to drop a line and say THANK YOU!! I have been
an adoptee since 2005 when I was deployed to Iraq. Now in Afghanistan, I
have had many opportunities to see your outstanding work in action. I
have even seen packages on tables in places with the AaSP logo on them!
Your efforts are going even further than you think! Your thoughtful
package brought smiles to the folks in my office. We have enjoyed many
of the goodies in there already, and continue to enjoy the coffee you
sent. Once
again, THANK YOU for your generous gift and for your continued support
of all of us deployed around the world. You are truly an inspiration
and a reflection of the American Spirit we all deployed to defend. It
is truly a privilege to call you all friends. Thanks, Vincent M, AFG, 21 Sept 2011

Hello, my name is 1SG Rouben M. I want to say thanks for your support. We are an Infantry Company of xxx patriotic warriors. My boys get shot at least 3 to 4 times a week. It has been an intense six months and we've taken casualties. Most of us have been together for the last 10 years and this is our 4th time together in Afghanistan. I just wanted to say that anything you send will be greatly appreciated and know it is going to an organization that has served their country well. Thanks for helping me motivate my men and help them forget about their friends that they've lost. They have x months left, your donation will bring a smile to their face and remind us why we do this. God bless. By the way, do you know of anyone who would be interested in donating a fake Christmas
tree. Last tour we didn't have the foresight to request one in time, so I'm asking around early this tour. One of my guy had his wife send him a small tree meant for a desk and all my boys stood around looking at it. That made me realize they really miss home during Christmas and next time I better have tree for them. Keep us in mind if you hear anything. Thank you. 1SG Rouben M, AFG, 6 Sept 2011.
Received a package of tea, coffee and soup today. Absolutely amazing. Turned it over to the DFAC/Chow Hall so the boys can swing through and grab a little something different tonight to drink with supper. Everything is fine here. Gets busy some days but not as many rockets as
last time which is definitely a plus. CSM Brian W, TF 1-2 IN, AFG 5 Sept 2011
On behalf of all of the Soldiers here, Thank you very much for the coffee! It is great. Your support is much appreciated! SGT Allyson P, 77th Sust. Bde, Iraq 4 Sept 2011
On behalf of the entire Communications and Signal Staff at ISAF Joint coalition Headquarters, we would like to simply say thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness for sending us the lovely goodies! We are so lucky to have such wonderful support from organizations like yourself. It was a great joy to receive such a package. It all gave us a moment to reflect, and realize the purpose behind what we do day in and day out. Sometimes it is too easy for us to get caught up in the daily negative events that can occur in a location like this; but, it makes your gift mean that much more to us. Please know that you too are in our hearts and prayers- We hope everyone is doing ok after Hurricane Irene, and THANK YOU for your support to us and our Great Nation!!! Myself and several others received your packages with coffee, soups and tea two days ago. Thank you! My roommate and I plan on taking a few pictures and sending "thanks" to the companies who sent those. The hallway outside the mailroom was buzzing as we were opening up the boxes and sharing with everyone! Thank you all for what you do! It really does brighten up the day to know people back home truly do care, appreciate and think about us out here!
Attached is an article I wrote for my hometown base paper I wanted to share with you for the upcoming 10th anniversary of 9/11. Hope you enjoy and have a great Labor day weekend! V/r SONYA L. C, MSgt, USAF

You have been amazing to my platoon over the past few
months. I am so sorry it took so long to get the photo up. I love it so
much and I am so grateful. I am moving on to another position in the Battalion for now but, 3/B
Wolverines will always be my family and my heart. Thank you for your
continued support. It means the world to me as the PL. God Bless you. Michael S, AFG 15 Aug 11 Thank you so much for all the snacks! My soldiers really appreciate it. Getting mail is the highlight of our day - and packages make it a grand event! LT Kelly H, A/4-227, AFG, 11 August 2011
Last night, I attended the memorial and ramp ceremony for the personnel in that large crash...very moving but very hard to see so many flag-draped remains (US on most, Afghan on others) on our warriors and one working dog. There were thousands that came out to the ceremony (Afghans, Poles, Koreans, French, and other...including a line of working dogs to honor their kennel mate)...a sea of brothers and sisters in arms paying respect to the fallen. Very tough but very moving to see how we honor those who give so much. v/r COL Scott B, AFG 8 Aug 11
You donated a bunch of clothes to children and last week we delivered them to an Afghan Refugee Camp. My photojournalist and I wrote commentaries on it. One is attached and
the other I provided a link. http://ntm-a.com/wordpress2/?p=5947 I wanted to thank you for your kindness; the children were very happy
with their new clothes and shoes. They don't have much so new clothes was a blessing. Thank-you for your kindness. Sincerely, Capt Ashley N, AFG, 5 Aug 2011
I would love to talk to all the wonderful people that send my men all this stuff but they always just have there mailing address..I would love to send them a few emails if I could and let them know how grateful we really are..Yes we got the trx's..alot of them too...Those things are a fortune..I promise one of the first pictures you get will be one of my oversized machine gunners trying to use those things..Should give everybody a laugh..Thats all for now...Thanks again! SFC Richard W, B Co, TF 1-32, AFG 3 Aug 2011
Hey i got the volleyball and pump i really appreciate it. It is much
nicer than the one we had that actually popped just the other day. nice
rugged material though its held up to the barbed wire already like 4
times i think anyway i really appreciate it. Casey B, AFG, 1 Aug 2011
Thank you so much for the incredibly large box of goodies! It is always a great morale boost to receive letters and packages from home. Keeps reminding us why we are out here. I shared all the contents with my platoon and they expressed their thanks .. "like it was like going shopping!" Again, thank you so much and have a Blessed Day! 2LT Jamie L, E Co. TF Phoenix AFG 26 July 2011
Thank each of you for a great year of support to our 'Band of Brothers' Soldiers. I can't say thank you enough. May God richly bless each one of you for the blessings that you have bestowed on our Soldiers in Afghanistan. v/r SGT Shane "Bird Dog" B, 2-506IN, AFG 22 July 2011
Thanks so much for the computer game, everyone loved it!!! The USO
just sent us the stuff, X box or Playbox or whatever the technical terms
are....I am not so computer literate. But I do know everyone was
excited when they saw it and were setting up. Everyone was excited about
the game. Things here are going fine. Unfortunately much more busy than
we have been. We worked for 36 hours straight over the weekend and have
a combat stress team out here now to debrief people on what happened.
Fortunately things were quiet the last few days so we are restocking,
cleaning, reading, sleeping, gaming and getting ready for whatever knocks
on our door next. We are thankful for the generosity and support people
from home are giving us esp with the issues that are stateside. We talk
about your generosity often in our morning report. Thank you again,
take
care, COL Kim F, 126th FST, AFG 20 July 2011
You guys are out of control. I'm not sure who to thank other thank thank you.
They have truly made this deployment survivable. They have given us so
much stuff, that was much needed, to include xboxes and microwaves, that
i don't know what we would do without it. Again, I want to thank you
and your organization for everything. V/R, SFC Richard W, B Co, TF 1-32, AFG 20 July 2011
I just wanted to let you know that your package arrived safely and is more than appreciated here. I take physical fitness very seriously as a leader in the Army and push my Soldiers to improve in their ability to maintain their own fitness level; physically and mentally. The TRX Kit has been so beneficial and "painful" at times (only due to sore muscles). On behalf of my healthier Soldiers, thank you so much for your generosity. Take Care and God Bless! 1LT Kevin D, 1165th MPs, AFG, 7-5-11
I'd like to personally thank you and everyone within your organization for the selfless service and unwavering support you've provided to all Paladins over the years and continue to provide through the foreseeable
future. You guys rock! Keep up the fight at your end and together there isn't anything we can't overcome. Respectfully,
Robert H, Command Sergeant Major, CJTF Paladin, AFG, 3 July 2011
The dart board you sent is amazing! We use it all of the time. It is hanging up in our operations center so whenever we need a short break, the darts come out and a friendly competition commences! What a wonderful idea! Thank you! v/r CPT H, 131 TC, AFG 11 May 2011
Thanks for all your support. Your group has made life a little more tolerable here in this austere environment. Have a fine Navy Day! V/R LTJG Kelly H, AFG 5-9-11
You and your team are AWESOME! I can't begin to thank you enough for the continued support. The care packages you send are a huge hit. The Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen flock to my office when they know I've gotten mail. The impact on morale is tremendous! Thank you just doesn't seem to express my gratitude. OMG!!! I just received 2 pallets (not boxes or sleeves) but pallets of Girl Scout cookies!!! Let's just say that I now have a lot (LOT) of new found friends! We took some pictures and I will send them once I receive them back. Thank you so much and please thank the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, NY as well! Take care & God bless! SCPO Joe S, CJTF Paladin, Bagram, AFG 4-28-11

Thank you very much for the great hygeine items, Xbox games and that Awesome Dartboard. We just hung it up in our plywood building. I'll take a picture and send it soon. We truly appreciate the time and effort you spent in making us smile. As you well know, we put in long hours away from our family and friends and generous gifts like yours bring us some joy. We look forward to our return, but know we have a job to do. Your selfless support makes doing that job a lot better. Thank you again on behalf of all our Marines! Semper Fidelis Neil F. M., LtCol, USMC, Helmand, mailed 19 April 2011
Imagine our excitement on a Sunday afternoon, while working, when your care package w/treats and Xbox games arrived for our Marines. Marines, soldiers and our British counterparts were attracted like moths to a flame! You made their day! Thank you so very much ... your support and well wishes continues to strengthen our resolve to increase security, develop the governance and support economic growth so Afghans can take the wheel and run a stable safe country that does not allow the likes of 9/11 ever again. We have certainly not forgotten nor will we! Thanks for your support!!! Semper Fidelis! LtCol Neil M, Regional Command SW, AFG mailed 4-10-11
Thank you so much for the wonderful box of goodies! We were so pleased to get some hygiene items, the easter candies, and snacks- what a nice surprise to find such a fun-filled box when you are called for mail :-) CPT Michelle O', Iraq, 15 April 2011
Our mission is to provide forward deployed, responsive, quality expeditionary care to Soldiers and Sailors in the Iraqi and Kuwaiti areas of operation in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. These are extraordinary times in the MIddle East, and our servicemen and women face significant challenges with high deployment tempos and the stressors of this environment. My purpose in writing this letter is to thank you, on behalf of my entire team of Sailors and Airmen, for the generous contributions given to us by Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon.
Our staff will enjoy all the wonderful items that your organization has sent. Truly there is something for everyone to enjoy inside of the boxes we received earlier this week. The golfers on my staff especially appreciated the golf clubs and balls since we had a limited supply of those items at our desert driving range. As you know, electronics (DVDs and games) are always a hit with our younger service members.
Your patriotism is a gift that cannot be packaged; but it is a gift that continues to mean the most to each of us. Thank you. Sincerely, K.J. I., Commanding Officer, Expeditionary Medical Facility Kuwait (Letter dated 2 April 2011)

| Pictured left is a recent thank you card we received from SSG Stephanie S in Iraq. She received "girlie goodies" from our good friend Steve G. of Opportunity Buying in NY. Thanks to Steve, we were able to send nice smelling special personal care products to many of our female warriors, nurses, etc. It makes a big difference, especially when you can't get these products in the PX or at austere locations.

One of the things he does is provide children of the Afghan Air Force Airmen they are training with school supplies, recreational gear, clothing and toys. This helps build better relationships with the Afghan trainees and thus the local populace as well. CLICK HERE to read a thank you from March 14, 2011.

We are the religious Support Team for the Soldiers of 2-506 Infantry Battalion, 4th BCT, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), known by many as the 'Band of Brothers Battalion' made famous by the HBO miniseries. On behalf of all the Soldiers from our Battalion and others attached to us, we would like to personally thank you for the care packages you sent. It is a true honor that we have such grateful Americans supporting our efforts here in Afghanistan and words cannot convey our appreciation. We believe that you and your volunteers are heroes for your efforts in reaching out to our Soldiers a world away from home. Your contribution will not only lift the spirit but help the well-being of these men and women who sacrifice so much every day. For this, we cannot thank you enough. May God continue to bless you, our Soldiers, and our great Nation. Jared V, (CPT) CH; Shane B, SGT, USA, AFG, 7 March, 2011
On behalf of the Soldiers of the Medical Task Force 86 Combat Support Hospital (CSH), Sather AB, Iraq, we would like to thank you for the popcorn maker and accessories that you have blessed us with for our great Warriors here. We are very grateful for it and the incredible support you have provided. These gifts of love directly impact the morale of our Soldiers and remind them that they are not forgotten. It has opened more doors of opportunity than you will ever know. We are so happy to know that you are praying for us as we continue to do the job that we are called to do to ensure our Nation and Families can be safe. Sincerely, Eric M, Chaplain (Major), US Army, Sr TF Hospital Chaplain, Iraq, 7 March 2011
And the 'tool box' dances again as we say thank you. Still seeing 17 grown men w/no rhythm or music "dance' because this LT (me) say to is more frightening than you could imagine. But these are my men and they would go with me to steal the gates of hades if I thought they would look good in our shop - and I told them that the trip would be fun. If you've read Kipling this is no surprise, if not ponder this "For this is the law of the jungle, it reads the same forward and back - the strength of the pack is the wolf, the strength of the wolf is the pack." So from my pack to yours, Thank you! Bill (Hi Nancy) LT William W, 54th EN BN, AFG, 7 March 2011
Thank you for sending the video games. We are looking forward to playing in some friendly competitions. Right now our living area is working on building an MWR. This will be a place that soldiers can go to relax, watch TV, play pool, or get on a computer. We appreciate all that you do and look forward to your continuing support. Thank you! CPT Dana H, 131st TC, Commander, AFG, 5 March 2011
I just received the box of girls clothes and teddy bears. Wow!! I couldn't believe my eyes. The girls are going love all of it. Please thank all of your team. 1LT Martha G, CJTF-101, AFG, March 4, 2011

I am currently in East

thank you. My battle buddies and I are extremely grateful for your
generosity and will enjoy this game for the remainder of our deployment.
I will send SGT B a picture with us and the game tomorrow, he
had requested it. Once again, thank you! Sometimes what we do is a
thankless job, it's reassuring to know that we still have supporters
like yourselves back home thinking of us. SPC Jason P, 2-506 IN, AFG, March 3, 2011

Just wanted to say once again Thank You! We received the package of Xbox games. Everyone was so surprised to find such a high prized item in a care package. There are a few activities you do out here to keep moral up. We work out, read, watch movies, surf the net and of course play video games. We know how expensive games can be so again thank you so much for you, your organization and all the volunteers that bring us so much joy. Very happy to announce that we received
all the boxes you sent and they were a HUGE success with all the troops
down here in Kabul, Afghanistan. Can't begin to thank you for all the
support and generosity shown by everyone who contributed. I am in the
process of putting a thank you package together from all of us. I am
trying to get a blown up picture of the whole Counter IED team here with
all our signatures. Just need to find a box that can hold it so it
arrives in decent shape. Please pass our sincere appreciation for all
the support. CPT Justin L, CIED, Kabul, AFG 1-12-11

Thank you for the great care package you sent me! I truly appreciate
your thoughtfulness and generosity. I was able to share many of the
items with my friends here...we all appreciate it! Again, thank you!

We here at CJTF Paladin would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for all the boxes of goodies that we have received throughout 2010. All the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines that make up our command have thoroughly enjoyed and put to good use everything that has been sent from your great organization. ... Of course this all wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the support from our families and friends like all of you there at the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. I can't tell you what your efforts do for our young service members and their emotional well-being. Just to see the smiles when all those boxes arrive is evidence of what effect your efforts have. All those boxes and letters from home supporters like you reminds me why we're here. It's the great country we live in and the way of life we defend as members of the United States Armed Forces. ... Have a safe and Happy New Year. ... (You guys rock! Getting some great feedback from our Paladins. They can't say enough about the support you provide. Thanks again!) CSM Robert H, CJTF Paladin, AFG 1-2-11
Thanks so much for all the packages that have be flooding into theater for the troops. I can't tell you how much they appreciate that so many care so much back at home. Your thoughts and contributions are an example of what still burns in the hearts of Americans all over. The overwhelming support and encouragement from everyone is nothing short of amazing. Again thanks from everyone here at CJTF Paladin. CSM Robert H, CJTF-Paladin, AFG 12-16-10
To the Great People of Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, Your support was greatly appreciated! Look forward to seeing you in Jersey for the concert (Roq'n for the Troops, 22 January)! Cheers! LCDR Don W, Kabul, AFG 12-14-10
Our unit is at the end of its tour and I wanted to take a few minutes to
personally thank you on behalf of my unit and all the soldiers that
benefited for your support, prayers and generosity. I don’t think I can
accurately describe how much your support means to the troops. While the
care packages are great and really boosted the Soldiers’ morale, when
they received the goodies and personal items not always available over
here, I believe it was the simple act of expressing your support in and
of itself that really resonated with the Soldiers. Of course the visit
from the Washington Redskin Cheerleaders certainly spawned a few smiles
as well. The troops are highly motivated and very professional, but
knowing the folks back home truly support them has had a positive
effect. For that I, along with many others, am truly grateful. Thank you
again for your unconditional support. You are all great Americans and
true patriots. Chief James B., 101st Airborne Div (AASLT), AFG 12-11-10
For the past 6 months, the Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon have been nothing less than superb with the amount of support shown to me and the members of ISAF Joint Command CJ6. You have put smiles on our faces (gifts, movies, stuff), fed our stomachs (snacks, cookies, popcorn, drinks), exercised our minds (books, games, magazines), and so much more, including the Dirt Devil. Additionally, you have touched the Afghan people with your generosity and caring. You are a World Class Organization and I'm privileged to know you. BRAVO ZULU & Well Done! I look forward to seeing you when I'm in NJ. - LCDR Don W., USN, IJC CJ6 Operations Officer, AFG, 12/7/10
We completed another deployment and The Outcasts are enjoying some much deserved relaxing time with their family. We truly appreciate all you and the rest of Adopt a Soldier Platoon were able to do to support us. Y'all are the greatest! Thank You! 1SG Mark C, 1/3 ARB, AFG, 4 Dec 2010
Thank you for your support while we were deployed. My team was located in Helmand Province outside of Marjah. We were co-located with Marines at a remote Combat Outpost. Your program greatly increased our quality of life as we were eating MRE's daily and showering with water bottles. Thanks for all your support and to thank you to everyone that was involved. What you do is often under appreciated, so on behalf of NMCB 133, my water well team, and myself THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Hope all is well and if there is anything that I can do to support your effort feel free to give me a shout. LTJG Bo L, USN 30-Nov-10
Thank you all for what you do for deployed soldiers. I hope you all have wonderful holidays. Happy New Year!, Lynn P, 547th ASMC, Iraq, Nov 30 2010
We've been getting a lot of good stuff from you guys. We all appreciate it. Thanks for everything. SGT Kevin D, 2nd Platoon, 118th Sapper Co., AFG, 28 Nov, 2010
THANK YOU! One of the best "Lifelines!" Have a Merry Christmas! sthank you for all you do. Thank you for the packages. 100 days left and praying. Be cool, stay strong, stay sharp, Stay and be a the Troops Supporter forever. Joe A.,Taji, Iraq, 8 Nov 2010
I just wanted to write a small thank you for everything that you do for deployed soldiers. I am currently at a small base of 25 people and the packages you sent help make a difference for us as we do not have any stores or PX. In addition, we got to meet Alan last night at the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders event at FOB Fenty. It was a great show and gave folks the opportunity to relax and enjoy the show. Thank you for all you do to support us! MAJ Jim P., 101st Airborne, AFG, 5 November 2010
Thank you for the generous care packages. They are appreciated greatly! Your support to all Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines means a lot. Thanks! CPT Lisa A, CJTF Paladin, AFG, 3 Nov 2010
On behalf of the coalition forces here at the Al Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT), I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the box of cookies you sent. The cookies were thoroughly enjoyed by USN Sailors, USCG Guardians, and our counterparts the Royal Navy Sailors from Great Britain and the United Kingdom. You would be amazed how simple things taken for granted on a daily basis back home seem like such a treasure when it is no longer readily available. It is people like you that remind us why we do what we do and who we do it for. Your selfless act of kindness for Sailors, Guardians, Soldiers, Marines and Airmen you don't even know is incredible. I believe your actions help renew our sense of worth and belief in our fellow Americans. We proudly serve our Country, wherever that may take us. Knowing there are Americans back home believing in us and what we do makes it worth that much more. Thank you again for your generosity. It is truly appreciated by all of us here. Sincerely, MA1 Darryl O, ABOT Tactical Supervisor, Kuwait, 10-20-10

On behalf of the Soldiers of the Medical TF-86th Combat Support Hospital (CSH), Sather AB, Iraq, we would like to thank you for all of the items that you continue to bless us with for our great Warriors here. We are very grateful for them and the incredible support that you have provided. These gifts of love directly impact the morale of our Soldiers and remind them that they are not forgotten It has opened more doors of opportunity than you will ever know. Greetings from the 1-10 MTN Religious Support team. As a caring contributor to the US and Coalition Service members and Civilians who serve here; your continued support and prayers greatly contribute to all of our well being. Upon the arrival of the 1-10 Mountain in March 2010 and the increase of personnel on Camp Spann we already know the value of your support. In behalf of all the Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, Marines and Civilians on Camp Spann -- Thank you! Camp Spann Chapel Staff and Volunteers, AFG, 10-16-10I wanted to thank you for your support during the duration of the our deployment. I recall receiving many packages from your organization. Thanks for your support for my Soldiers while we were deployed. We are back home enjoying a little time off. 1SG Brian C, 755 EOD, AFG, 16 October 2010Thank
you all for the Lipton Cold Brews and the Trefoils. It is able to get
out to the whole company by getting placed in the clinic's MWR. We all
appreciate the treats. It is slowly cooling down, but we always are
drinking water. What can be said about the Girl Scout cookies, yum and
thank you. Goodies from home. Thanks for all you do, the 547th ASMC, Iraq, 10-13-10.
Thank you so much for the box of Lipton Ice Tea. That is very kind and thoughtful of you. The 745th FST thanks you for your support, kindness and prayers. We are all doing well here. The weather is starting to change and have had cool temps. We have even had rain too. Thank you again for the tea. Take care, God Bless. 745th FST FOB Fenty, AFG 28 Sept 2010
We received the X-Box, DVD, video camera, and tea two days ago-outstanding! The Marines loved it. We've got a camp with a TV so we'll put the Xbox to good use. I'll say again, and I know I sound like a broken record, that what you guys are doing is truly appreciated by the Marines and Sailors of 2/9. I'm personally grateful for everything you've done for my Marines. LtCol James F, 2/9 Marines, 13 Sept 2010
Just got your packages day before yesterday. They were great! And most
of the items are already gone! Biggest thing is Carmex, for some reason
they all love it! LOL! The games were a HUGE hit, we distributed them
to each of the mwr facilities and the managers were really excited. Ice
Tea stix and any other juice things like that are big hits as well.
It's nice to drink something with a little flavor every now and then
other then plain water. The girls like the manicure sets and of course
shampoos and conditioners as well as smell good sprays and lotions. Thank you for all that you guys do for us soldiers here in Iraq. Shelley L, Camp Victory, Iraq, 8-14-10
Thank you for your continued support. Chaplain Erick A., 3-187 INF Rgt, FOB Sharana, AFG 8-12-10
Thank you so much for your generosity in support of our soldiers here at JBB. Your support means the world to us. 332 EMDG Chapel Staff, Balad AF Theater Hospital, Iraq, 8-12-10
Hey
all, today I received a big box of stuffed animals for the Afghan kids.
Thanks Big Time. These stuffed dolls, characters and animals go a
long way in building friendships and trust between us and the local
children. Just seeing the smiles and expressions of appreciation on
their little faces is enough to brighte...n my day. Will start distributing to kids at the local hospital. Thanks again Platoon - you are great! LCDR Don W, USN Kabul, AFG
8-6-10
Sending
another BRAVO ZULU to all of you at Adopt-a-Soldier (or Sailor)
Platoon; Thank you for the Iced Tea (nothing better on a hot day). XBOX
Games, snacks and Stuffed Animals for the Afghan Kids. Your
organization is truly awesome and my fellow Officers and Troops very
much appreciate your care and concern. Thanks... Again! LCDR Don W, USN IJC CJ6, Kabul, Afghanistan, 7-26-10
I am speechless, today we received another care package from your wonderful organization containing all kind of stuff including delicious taffies and even a very expensive DVD player. Their generosity and support are simply unbelievable. Please thank them on my behalf and the rest of the Navy Forward Surgical Team. God bless you all. Very Respectfully, HMCS(SW/FMF) Pietro M, Senior Enlisted Leader, Navy Forward Surgical Team, FOB Lagman (Qalat)

Thank
you so much for the boxes of goodies that we received last week. The
salt water taffy and cookies were a huge hit! I have to tell you kind
of a funny story about this most recent box – we were in the command
office having a rather serious discussion about some of the issues our
Soldiers are having as we get close to closing out this deployment – the
NCO responsible for the mail comes in and says that the mail was here
and the at I had a couple of boxes. To which I say “OK, thank you –
I’ll get them in a minute.” Well, strangely, he stays there waiting
patiently for another break in the discussion when he politely says -
“Um, ma’am, can you please OPEN your boxes??? The packing slip says
there are video games and we can’t wait!” Just like little kids at
Christmas time! Anyway, it lightened the mood dramatically and the
Tiger Woods Golf 2010 game has already gotten some good play on the Xbox
and Wii systems! Sometimes just seeing a box with the “Adopt-a-Soldier
Platoon logo is enough to make the day a bit brighter.
Thank you for all of your support of the 240th FST and the Soldiers in
TF Mountain Warrior and TF Bastogne. Your generosity has impacted us
all in very profound ways. With great respect and admiration, Jana Jana N. MAJ, AN, Chief Nurse, 240th FST(ABN), FOB Fenty "The Bleeding Stops Here" 7-26-10So I returned
to my office after some lengthy and sleepless travel and found several
boxes. Iced tea, taffy, shirts, moisturizer and tons more!
Thank you AaSP, I distributed
the items far and wide to a massively welcome greeting from all. The
iced tea sticks and cold brew were passed to all the departments here in
the hospital and the cold brew was handed over to our NutMed staff (a
small cafeteria that feeds the patients and some of the staff when their
is enough food....everyone is able to go in and share in the things put
in there). Crock pots were put in two different locations so that the
NutMed staff can loan one out and one to the IT staff because they cook
for me!
I gave one of the X-Box games
to our radiology department who work 24hrs a day, 7 days a week and
very rarely have time to relax and leave...so having some games to play
makes their life a lot nicer. I have the other one stashed in my bag and
will make sure it goes to our wounded soldiers.
I was contacted by Garda
about the laptops and will be discussing their usage further with COL B here in Bagram to get the connected with WiFi so they can email
and call their families.
I don't know when you sleep,
but you must sleep like a baby with all the wonderful things you do for
our soldiers (and us civilians too!). When I brought the shirts to
the chaplain here (some also went to the CASF directly for our wounded
guys who wind up with no clothes since we cut theirs off on arrival) to
stash for the soldiers who desperately need them and she asked if I knew
someone I could get travel size shaving cream from. Apparently it's
nearly impossible to come by.
She also asked for a couple
of other items which I am going to provide for her myself (a 19" LCD TV
for their office to handle training, videos from home and of course some
downtime movies, a printer, ink and card stock for the ICU and ICW to
make up their own "Get Well Soon" cards and a digital camera for one of
the soldiers here who is going through a divorce and his wife won't send
any of his personal items. I will be able to cover these on my own but
the shaving cream seems to be a perfect item to ask you for.
I can't thank you enough, these kids are desperate for these items and love receiving them. I
asked to take a picture of the wounded soldiers in the t-shirts but the
military has strict regulations against that. I will still see what I
can do though. v/r Ralph P, Medweb Deployed Systems Administrator, Afghanistan Theater Support, 7-24-10
I just wanted to say thank you for all the support and boxes I
received out here not only was I able to enjoy them but my marines
appreciated
them as well. This has been a very nice treat to have while we were out
here
and everything always came in handy down the road. We are at the end of
our
deployment and will be leaving soon. CLB-2 will be
replacing
us so if there is anything still in the mail it should go to them. Once
again
thank you so much for the support it means a lot. Very Respectfully, Sgt D, Benjamin D. CLB-6 HQ S-6 Delaram Wire Chief, AFG 7-11-10
Wanted to say "THANK YOU" for the Flip Cam so I
can document my experiences and adventures around Afghanistan.
Additionally, the Coalition Forces of ISAF Joint Command HQ CJ6 are very
thankful and appreciative of the coffee and iced tea power sticks you
have sent. In US Navy speak, "BRAVO ZULU!". --- LCDR Don V. W, USN, Kabul, AFG 7-9-10
As we get ready to depart Afghanistan here in a couple weeks I would like to take this time to thank you. I thank you, Uni-lever, and everyone affiliated with Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. Thanks for the numerous care packages, all the support for the Super Bowl Party, and all the equipment for our MWR tent. Your organization, sponsors and volunteers included are truly a professional and class act. Being here working in a NATO organization the foreign soldiers are amazed at the support we get from home. All I can tell them is it is part of being American. We take care of each other. God Bless you and God Bless America. MSG Rubin A, ISAF, Kabul, AFG July 1, 2010 Despite the difficult challenges, the morale among us is high. Everybody is highly motivated, extremely committed, and we have everything to complete the mission assigned. The fact that we are in your hearts and minds is by far the best gift of all. Best regards to you and your wonderful organization. Pietro M, Senior Enlisted Leader, Navy Forward
Surgical Team, FOB Lagman, July 1, 2010Today, we received the care package you sent us. Please thank everyone at Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon for their generosity and for thinking of us. We have been very busy lately with a lot of casualties; however, everybody is doing well. Take care, R/ Pietro M, Senior Enlisted Leader, Navy Forward Surgical Team, FOB Lagman, June 30, 2010
I'd like to take this time to offer a great big THANK YOU for the wonderful surprise I received when I walked back into my office after a mission this afternoon. On my desk I found 2 boxes from Cub Scout Pack #8, Elmwood Park, NJ and the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. I can't tell you how happy I am as these boxes arrived at just the right time. I'm assigned to a NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Base located at Kabul International Airport. There is no American dining facilities and no American PX so the "stuff" I received was perfect! My US and international (British, German, Canadian, Australian, Norwegian, and Italian) buddies and co-workers, all of whom are here fighting alongside the US in Operation Enduring Freedom, were impressed by your efforts; plus they shared the goodies/snacks - they all say thank you
too! I'd posted in the office the cards/artwork the boys included in the boxes. I also received a wonderful card from "Shalanda Esserry" hopefully I spelled that correctly), the Mother of one of the Scouts. She did not include an email address but please thank her for me...I truly appreciate her words. Once again, thank you more than words can say. BTW - I'm a Jersey Boy myself and great to see Jersey Scouts leading the way! LCDR Don W, AFG, June 23, 2010

I would like to express my deepest appreciation for your generosity in sending care package support for the warriors of Regimental Combat Team Two (RCT-2) who are currently serving to support Operation Enduring Freedom in the country of Afghanistan. It gives me great pleasure to know that there are people like you on the home-front who remember with thanksgiving the service and sacrifice of our young men and women in uniform. Your benevolence and continued prayers daily remind my warriors that they are loved and appreciated for their faithful devotion to duty. I know to some it might not seem like a lot, but trust me when I say it means a great deal more to us than you will ever know. Once again, THANK YOU so very much. May you and yours be blessed for the kindness and consideration you have bestowed upon us. Sincerely, CDR. Bill "Gunny" A, RCT-2 Chaplain, Religious Ministry Team, 26 May 2010
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous donation to Walter Reed's Soldier Family Assistance Center. In do doing, your efforts directly support our patients, who have been evacuated here from Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. It is extremely gratifying to see such an out-pouring of affection for these men and women who serve our country so bravely. It's Americans like you, who by keeping in their hearts the well-being of those who have sacrificed so much, are tangibly assisting with their comfort and recupertion. Your efforts help make America what it is, a country that makes us all proud to be Americans. Again, thank you for your kind thoughts and heartfelt generosity. Sincerely, Stephen C. Maguire, Dir., Soldier Family Assistance Center, May 21, 2010
I cannot express my gratitude enough to you and every company, volunteer, donator and supporter who helped our units and our humanitarian mission, Operation Falcon Cares. I am extremely grateful to participate in this operation in Iraq, and thankful for your assistance in making it a huge success. Your support is sincerely appreciated. Mail call today! Guess what happened? We got mail from y'all! Thank you so much. I have more pics for you with it. Y'all are just so awesome! Soldiers here can not believe the support you give. They think I am tied in with the Mafia. I send them to the website and tell them to check the Facebook. They are just use to support of toothpaste and soap and are still just blown away. 1SG Mark C., 1/3 ARB, AFG, 4-13-10

We received the x-boxes, PSPs, webcams, headsets and Flips today! OMG THANK YOU! Our Chaplain's Assistant has worked very hard to transform a trailer next to the Chapel into a central hang out area for soldiers. It is a very nice area that has computers, phones, books, a lounge area and a TV room. Unfortunately, there were not enough webcams and headsets to go around for everyone to use. He doesn't know it yet, but your donated webcams and headsets are going to be given to Red River Place (the hangout area) for everyone to share and use. I know he will be ecstatic, and everyone who will be able to share these and talk to their families will be more than appreciative!!!! I am also giving them one of the X-Box systems and some games. This area is used by Army, Air Force and civilian contractors, so your donations will affect many, many people who use the facility. (I will try to get some pictures of this to send back to you)
We have a unit recreation center that is going to be augmented with the other X-Box for everyone in Task Force 38 to have access to. Also, we are going to divide up the Flips and PSPs between our multiple units so as many people as possible can benefit from your program's kindness and generosity. Thank you so much for everything. You have more than taken care of our Soldiers and continue to help us it seems in every single way imaginable. You dedication to assisting our humanitarian mission has been huge and improved life for so many Iraqi citizens. I am so thankful for all of the support you have given us and wish there was a way I could repay everyone involved for their kindness, care, support and generosity. SSG Beth G, TF 38, Iraq 3-31-10
Thank you once again! We appreciate your continued support. Y'all are too kind and thoughtful to us. 1SG Mark C., Charlie Co. Outcasts! AFG, March 28, 2010
We got a box from you today! Thank you! We received 2 Xboxs, a webcam and a PSP. I was able to get some pictures for you of course. It was a great day for the guys. You guys were a big hit! I am going to try and get the pics emailed out tonight or tomorrow. It was a great time handing these items out. I did not worn the guys. I let them know about you and the Platoon of people helping out right before we pulled the box out and started giving stuff out. Y'all are the greatest! 1SG Mark C., AFG, 3-26-10
It blows my soldiers minds when you guys send that kind of stuff. They really don't expect such awesome stuff inside those care packages, but you guys always have something awesome in there for them. Thank you so much for everything you and the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon has done for us. You've all helped to ease the stress inevitably caused from a deployment. 1LT Tim D, Iraq, 3-20-10
Greetings from the Arabian Gulf. I wanted to thank you and your organization for what you’re doing for the troops. We had our first “real” mail call in almost 3 months. Today I received a couple boxes of coffee. Thank you very much!! It was a big hit for the Sailors in my Department. LCDR Ron S., USS Dwight D Eisenhower (CVN-69), 3/13/10
Thank you so much! We received 2 boxes from you today, full of all kinds
of stuff from soup to pillows. The boxes were emptied probably 5011
times faster than it took pack them. It was great seeing the guys like
that. Those two boxes were the only boxes our company had received in 4
days. The PX had been empty as well due to the bad weather which is what
was giving us mail issues as well. I have some shelfs that we keep the
extra items like hygiene items and food. The shelves were replenished as
well. Please let all of your supporters know that their timing was spot
on and we appreciate all that y'all do for us. Thank you! Take care. 1SGT Mark C, AFG 3-2-10 OMG! We just got the boxes today you sent out. Thank you soo much! After setting aside everything for Operation Falcon Care, I let my fellow soldiers know about the goodies for them. Needless to say, most of it is already gone and I have only had to the boxes for a couple of hours now. Everyone is so thankful and wanted me to pass along their appreciation. I also showed SGT S. the donations for our humanitarian mission and he was very happy to see what we received. THANK YOU! SGT Beth G., TF 38, Iraq, 2-27-10
Hello, my name is Denis T. and I wanted to thank you on behalf of the intermediate care ward of the 332 Air Force theater hospital from Joint Base Balad Iraq for your dedication and service to us deployed here. I recent cut off a lock that had been on this old dusty locker for it seems like centuries to find a donated portable dvd player and your card with it…. A lost treasure it seems for us to find, we now use it as an entertainment unit for the injured soldiers that have been hurt and bed ridden. Something like this only comes by once in a long time and we plan to use it for the 250,000 military members station here in the Iraq/Afganistan AOR. I cannot thank you enough for your service to us and glad to see that we’re not forgotten as American people. Thank you. Feb 25, 2010 Iraq
HOLY CRAP! So...a ton of boxes have arrived here and I can't thank you enough. I distributed the boxes to shops that normally don't see care packages like these...radiology, IT, logistics/BioMets (medical equipment repair) and I can tell you the mood here has changed drastically...it's like Christmas! Thank you Alan, thank everyone from AaSP for me as well and please know if there is any way I can help I am ready willing and able. Ralph R, AFG, 2-23-10
Guys, We just receive two big boxes of goodies. Thanks a million for the support. 1LT Peter P, Role 3, Kandahar 2-23-10
We received 2 packages today from Adopt a soldier program. I would like to say thank again for all you do. My Marines thought it was awesome and to see that people actually do care they thought that was awesome as well. Once again thank you for all your support. Its nice to see the Marines morale get a little bust. Thank you. SGT Benjamin D, Wire Chief, CLB-6, AFG 2-10-10
Holy cow, and I'm not Hindu. You guys are fantastic, I don't even know what to say. The cigars and humidor was a huge hit. That thing is beautiful, I was almost afraid to put it in the Chief's Mess, you are one popular guy now. Then all the snacks, coffee, shirts, and a Wii to top things off. I also received some nice pictures and cards from Keevan's 5th grade class along with more stuff. My office was packed, it was great. I must say I am really impressed by the compassion and caring that your organization, friends, contacts, and average Americans really bestow upon us. I am not used to this kind of treatment, to me it just a job we do, and a far cry to the reception my father got after Viet Nam. So I really don't want this to be a one way street, what can we provide in return, especially to those fifth graders? I already have our Master Chief and the Mess looking to acquire some modest gesture of our thanks. I don't think I can compete with what you are providing, but what can we do? Chief Ed G. N4 LCPO / 3MC, KUW Jan 27, 2010 (thanks to Planet Tool & Eng. and partners for this shipment!)
I just received 12 boxes. Great timing, please thank all involved. I have a few pics but am having trouble getting them out on the e-mail. We are all working long days. One of the yards we operate has put over $200 million dollars back into the supply system. I will be in touch soon. CW2 Tony P, Iraq, 1-27-2010
Mrs.Stein-Bull- Greetings from Afghanistan. I am writing for a couple of reasons. First is to thank you for your very thoughtful gifts and letters. They have certainly helped all of us this deployment. For many of us this is the 2nd,3rd or even 4th time down range and missing the holidays... all I can tell you is that we really do appreciate everything you have done for us.
The second reason is to ask for your help in getting letters back to the students who took the time to send letters to us. Many of the letters only had their first names so the best I could do is address it to the high school with their first names. I really do want each of them to know that we really do appreciate their time and efforts in reaching out to our team here. All the best with the remainder of the academic year. If there is anything more we can do to express our appreciation please let me (us) know. Best Regards- MAJ Imad H, 240th FST, AFG 1-11-10
On behalf of the 47th Combat Support Hospital at COB Speicher in Tikrit, Iraq, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon for all the wonderful personal care items, special foods and many other personal touches that you sent us to distribute to Soldiers during our 12 months of deployment. We were lucky to have you as our sponsor and the magician for making our wishes come true. It was like having a Santa all year around.
Our Soldiers who staff our hospital and our Patients loved all of your items. Everything was a big hit. We only wish we could share how wide their eyes opened when they learned that all of you took the time to specially buy and pack all of our special items. Your thoughtfulness made home one step closer for all of us.
It's time to go home. We have accomplished our mission. We would like to present this flag in the name of all the Physicians, Nurses, Medics and Soldiers from the 47th CSH. Thank you for your prayers, generosity for Soldiers and especially your friendship. Your acts of kindness and support of our Soldiers were greatly appreciated.
Dedicated to Life!
Sincerely, Alida E. Ramos, LTC, AN, Chief Nurse, 47th CSH, Tikrit, Iraq, OIF 09-11, December 31, 2009
I received two packages from you today, it's the two with the xbox games. I really can't thank you enough. Thanks again for all that you do, and I'm looking forward to meeting your whole team when I get back. SPC Brian S., AFG, 12-27-09
We are leaving soon and sprits are high. This is also contributed to the abundant generosity from everyone. We were able to pick out some of the younger Sailors stationed out here who may have been away during the holidays for the very first time. These young Sailors were so taken back and surprised when we were able to present them with stockings. We gave awayX-Box games, Visa Gift Certificates, DVDs and a whole mess of candy and snacks. It was truly a great holiday surprise and a welcomed morale booster. Within the next month I am sure to find a point of contact from our reliefs who would love to continue the Adopt-a-Soldier program. Once again thank you to everyone that contributed and God Bless. Chief Dan C., CTG 56.5, Kuwait 12-27-09
We all very much appreciate everything that you do for us. I received a DJ Hero set from you last week and wanted to let you know that I put it to good use with one of our lower enlisted guys here who has an X-box. I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving and thank you again for everything. Respectfully, CPT Michael H., Iraq, 11-28-09
I just received the DJ hero. I can't thank you guys enough, it really does mean a lot to me what you are doing.
Its actually kind of funny. Im not sure what you know about me, but Im a fire team leader in an infantry platoon. I lead and am responsible for 4 soldiers. They are all 18 and 19 years old with less than 2 years in the Army (Im 25 with almost 6 years in), they are great kids, but they are just that, kids, so I do everything I can to take care of them. Which includes passing on most of what you send me to them. Anyway, whenever we get mail they know to look for packages from you and then they bring it to me asking if they can open it, I have to laugh because they remind me of my younger cousins on Christmas morning. Well, when they saw the DJ Hero you would have thought it was their birthdays and Christmas rolled into one, they've been playing it for hours now. SPC Brian S., AFG, 11-27-09
Thank you for the care packages. I can't begin to tell you just how much that boosted my (as well as my platoonmates') morale. The CertainDry is worth it's weight in gold..esp with the rain season beginning here in Afghanistan. I wanted to express my deepest gratitude to you both for caring about us and remnind us that we have such support back home. Again, thank you. We really do appreciate it. Greg O', AFG, 11-24-09 AWESOME!!!! I got your box full of games and stockings. I can't wait to give these out. I will make sure to take lots of pictures and send them out. I even got my own family involved. Our goal is to get a stocking to every junior sailor below the rank of E-4. I can't thank you enough, this is great!!!! Chief Dan C, CTG 56.5, Kuwait, 11-24-09
Thank you so much for the DJ Hero games. We can't stop playing and dancing with the new toy. Thank you! LTC Alida R., 47th CSH, Iraq, 11-23-09
Hello, I am LTC Barbara S., I took over from LTC Tony C. as Chief Nurse of the 47th CSH-Mosul. THANK YOU!! To you and your staff at Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon for ALL of the wonderful gifts you have sent the members of the 47th Combat Support Hospital.
The Lipton tea is delicious, and the individual packets are enjoyed by everyone. One packet is just the right size for the 1 liter bottles of water that arrive by the palette at the CSH. I have also witnessed bags of Lipton Tea swimming in bottles, set in the sun, on top of a sandbag covered, concrete bunkers. Our method of making "Sun Tea". Yesterday, 17NOV09, I received 4 huge boxes of candy. Holy smokes, I hope all of Suffolk, VA did not make their children give up their Trick-Or-Treat candy. But I know a whole slew of Doctors, Nurses, and Medics who acted like a bunch of children when I opened the boxes. I will "meter out" the goods. The EMT (Emergency Medical Treatment) staff already called "dibbs" on a box for their movie night. I want you and your staff to know what a wonderful, uplifting affect your generosity has been for the medical staff of the 47th Combat Support Hospital. We truly appreciate you, your time, your effort, and your support. Thank you and God Bless You. LTC S., Mosul, Iraq, 11-18-09
Good morning friends. *Salute* Holy packages!!! THANK YOU. LOVE all the stuff from Tina's school. And the DJ Hero...are you kidding me!!!? I really don't know how you guys do it. I already know of one guy who will get one of these. He's our resident DJ. He did it at our Halloween party, in fact. He's going to flip out! :-) Thanks for all this. Just tremendous. MAJ John M., Tikrit, Iraq, 11-17-09
In a letter to our Special Friend, Linda Pitts of the Piedmont Patriots 11-16-09: I appreciate your email and the first thing I would like to say is what a pleasure it was to have such a soldier as SPC T (referring to a fallen warrior). He was and is an outstanding soldier. His bravery under fire was remarkable. We all miss him very much. We are doing extremely well right now as we continue to secure the populace and root out the Taliban. It is a very tough process and the soldiers are adapting well after a furious 100 days. We all miss our families. We appreciate any care packages you could send. Right now, our company has approximately 150 soldiers give or take on the ground with enablers and support soldiers. We are gearing up for the winter . Right now, normal canned food or staple groceries are awesome. The soldiers are getting sick of Meals Ready to Eat every day and anything to break it up helps. Snacks, etc. Thanks for all your support. Respectfully, Jamie P, Afghanistan
We have been getting plenty of support and thanks for it all. Those tea drink mixes made a difference this summer, Thanks for all of your support, its great knowing people like you have our back. 1SG David C, Delta Co, 7th Bn, AFG, 10-13-09
Good evening, CDR Marc P., CO of VFA-97 checking in. On behalf of TEAM WARHAWK, I wanted to say thank you for your support of our sailors with the generous gifts. I know it's much appreciated, especially by those young warriors away from home on their first deployment. Take care, thanks again. Sincerely, CDR Marc P., Commanding Officer, VFA-97 Embarked USS NIMITZ, 10-13-09 Thank you so much for the care package. Everyone around the squadron loved the taffies. Our XO said it brought him back to his childhood. All the Yankee fans got their caps. I had to keep the FDNY stuff. It rocked. I gave the XBOX game to our powerplants shop. It's advance pay for them fixing a hydraulic problem with one of our jets. Everyday we are supporting Marines and Soldiers that are very nervous and we are right there to deliver protection quickly. Continuing to take care of our brethren, LT Luis P. D., VFA-97 aboard USS Nimitz, 10-13-09
Thank you so much for the incredible boxes of goodies and the support you and the whole organization show in support of our Soliders, Sailors, Airman, Marines, and Coastguardsmen. I cannot thank you enough for remembering all of us out here. All the best, LT Alex McM, MNF-I CJ9, Baghdad, Iraq, 10-12-09
The package arrived safely and the smiles here are wide and plentiful. I've got several distribution stops first thing tomorrow morning, so those smiles will be spreading quickly. Good stuff. Thanks a million for your team's generosity and ongoing support. If there's ever anything you need, just say the word. Take care. - 1LT Cris A., 561st RSG Task Force Twister, Camp Victory, Iraq

I just wanted to say hi and send you a picture of some of the guys in my company...and me of course lol. I realized today that this is the only picture that I have so far of this deployment, the first deployment is always the most exciting, the ones after that...not so much. We are doing good, we have settled into a routine here, working and running a lot. Another female soldier and I are running in The Army 10 miler on Sunday and we are training for a half marathon in Nov, just trying to pass the time. Anyway, enjoy the picture, I am pulling out my camera tonite to take some more... SSG Katrina L., AFG 10-2-09
