Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon

Thanks so much for all the packages that have be flooding into theater for the troops. I can't tell you how much they appreciate that so many care so much back at home. Your thoughts and contributions are an example of what still burns in the hearts of Americans all over. The overwhelming support and encouragement from everyone is nothing short of amazing. Again thanks from everyone here at CJTF Paladin. CSM Robert H, CJTF-Paladin, AFG 12-16-10

To the Great People of Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, Your support was greatly appreciated! Look forward to seeing you in Jersey for the concert (Roq'n for the Troops, 22 January)! Cheers! LCDR Don W, Kabul, AFG 12-14-10

Our unit is at the end of its tour and I wanted to take a few minutes to personally thank you on behalf of my unit and all the soldiers that benefited for your support, prayers and generosity. I don’t think I can accurately describe how much your support means to the troops. While the care packages are great and really boosted the Soldiers’ morale, when they received the goodies and personal items not always available over here, I believe it was the simple act of expressing your support in and of itself that really resonated with the Soldiers. Of course the visit from the Washington Redskin Cheerleaders certainly spawned a few smiles as well. The troops are highly motivated and very professional, but knowing the folks back home truly support them has had a positive effect. For that I, along with many others, am truly grateful. Thank you again for your unconditional support. You are all great Americans and true patriots. Chief James B., 101st Airborne Div (AASLT), AFG 12-11-10

For the past 6 months, the Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon have been nothing less than superb with the amount of support shown to me and the members of ISAF Joint Command CJ6. You have put smiles on our faces (gifts, movies, stuff), fed our stomachs (snacks, cookies, popcorn, drinks), exercised our minds (books, games, magazines), and so much more, including the Dirt Devil. Additionally, you have touched the Afghan people with your generosity and caring. You are a World Class Organization and I'm privileged to know you. BRAVO ZULU & Well Done! I look forward to seeing you when I'm in NJ. - LCDR Don W., USN, IJC CJ6 Operations Officer, AFG, 12/7/10

We completed another deployment and The Outcasts are enjoying some much deserved relaxing time with their family. We truly appreciate all you and the rest of Adopt a Soldier Platoon were able to do to support us. Y'all are the greatest! Thank You! 1SG Mark C, 1/3 ARB, AFG, 4 Dec 2010

Thank you for your support while we were deployed. My team was located in Helmand Province outside of Marjah. We were co-located with Marines at a remote Combat Outpost. Your program greatly increased our quality of life as we were eating MRE's daily and showering with water bottles. Thanks for all your support and to thank you to everyone that was involved. What you do is often under appreciated, so on behalf of NMCB 133, my water well team, and myself THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Hope all is well and if there is anything that I can do to support your effort feel free to give me a shout. LTJG Bo L, USN 30-Nov-10

Thank you all for what you do for deployed soldiers. I hope you all have wonderful holidays. Happy New Year!, Lynn P, 547th ASMC, Iraq, Nov 30 2010

We've been getting a lot of good stuff from you guys. We all appreciate it. Thanks for everything.  SGT Kevin D, 2nd Platoon, 118th Sapper Co., AFG, 28 Nov, 2010

THANK YOU! One of the best "Lifelines!" Have a Merry Christmas! sthank you for all you do. Thank you for the packages. 100 days left and praying. Be cool, stay strong, stay sharp, Stay and be a the Troops Supporter forever. Joe A.,Taji, Iraq, 8 Nov 2010

I just wanted to write a small thank you for everything that you do for deployed soldiers. I am currently at a small base of 25 people and the packages you sent help make a difference for us as we do not have any stores or PX. In addition, we got to meet Alan last night at the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders event at FOB Fenty. It was a great show and gave folks the opportunity to relax and enjoy the show. Thank you for all you do to support us! MAJ Jim P., 101st Airborne, AFG, 5 November 2010

Thank you for the generous care packages. They are appreciated greatly! Your support to all Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines means a lot. Thanks! CPT Lisa A, CJTF Paladin, AFG, 3 Nov 2010

On behalf of the coalition forces here at the Al Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT), I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the box of cookies you sent. The cookies were thoroughly enjoyed by USN Sailors, USCG Guardians, and our counterparts the Royal Navy Sailors from Great Britain and the United Kingdom. You would be amazed how simple things taken for granted on a daily basis back home seem like such a treasure when it is no longer readily available.  It is people like you that remind us why we do what we do and who we do it for. Your selfless act of kindness for Sailors, Guardians, Soldiers, Marines and Airmen you don't even know is incredible. I believe your actions help renew our sense of worth and belief in our fellow Americans.  We proudly serve our Country, wherever that may take us. Knowing there are Americans back home believing in us and what we do makes it worth that much more. Thank you again for your generosity. It is truly appreciated by all of us here.  Sincerely, MA1 Darryl O, ABOT Tactical Supervisor, Kuwait, 10-20-10

Hey guys! Thanks for continuing to serve us out here that serve the country, and for everyone's efforts, we love you guys and Thank You! Wanted to make sure you got this photo, we had a professional come out and do pictures who will be hanging out here with us for a while.  This is a great pic, and includes HHT Headquarters, and the rest of the 40 CAV crew out here at COP Herrera.  You guys help to support the MP's out here as well, but they werent available at the time.  Again, thanks you guys so much! 1LT Peter V., AFG, 9-26-09
Just wanted to send a big THANK YOU!  We all really appreciated the Ice Tea!  September was a hot month, and very active with the elections here and Ramadan and all the crazies that come out in September, but the ice tea helped us get through it!  It showed up, everyone here was so excited, I barely got myself a single box after the stampede!  Just wanted to let you know that we appreciate what you guys did for us, and everyone loved the iced tea.  You guys are awesome.  We are very happy to have folks like you on our side back home supporting us, it reminds us every time of going home in a few months, and how people back there care about us and what we get to return to.
Again, thank you guys so much, with missions and all in the heat, good healthy and tasty drink mixes are something we LOVE to get in the mail, especially sugar free ones at that, makes drinking plenty of water through the day alot more enjoyable! Thanks again you guys, from all of us here!
  1LT Peter V., AFG, 9-26-09

Thanks so much for the tea.  It was a pretty big hit in the ready room.  A bunch of the sailors that work for us also got them.  I appreciate it man. Things here are going well for me.  Supporting OEF is a wonderful privilege.  I wish I could go into great detail.  Suffice to say it is the most rewarding thing I think I've ever done.  We are up there just doing our damndest to make sure those young guys and gals get home safe.  You could hear the tone of their voice reflect their peace knowing you're above them, watching them.  I feel like the past six months of training after training have set me up to know exactly what to do to protect them.
Thanks for the support, honestly.  It is a lonely world out here.  I wish the public knew what hell this is for those guys on the ground.  They'll never really know I suppose.  Just witnessing the bravery of those guys is something daunting to see. Take care, Lt. Luis D., VFA-97, USS Nimitz, 9-24-09

Received the Lipton on the Go Ice tea mix on Saturday. I was able to get some out to all 6 of my units. It was a big hit!
Thankyou again for all of your great support! CSM Peter C., Iraq, 9-8-09

Please forward my regards. Just so you know, the weather here is much cooler. The highs are only 108. The tea is awesome. We sit a big box in the Chief Nurse's office, as people stop in for business, they pick up a box "to go". WE are very grateful. LTC N., Iraq, 9-8-09

Hello, I just wanted to send a quick email saying thank you extremely much for every bit of the Lipton Green Tea that you guys sent to us over here in Afghanistan. I dont know if most Americans know this, but my unit especially my platoon climbs mountains every month ranging from 9000 to over 10000ft without oxygen and just bottles of water. We do get gatorade from time to time, and AaSP has definitely made sure we received blue and purple gatorade which is a huge success over here! Although, we do have a huge majority of the soldiers from the east and southern portions of the states that havent had any ice tea the entire time here. I can tell you that everyone is extremely grateful. We have a small CKT(basically a small kitchen where the cooks prepare and serve our meals/chow), where I have placed hundreds of the tea packets ... I hope this email finds you in excellent health, and my company and myself are extremely grateful for everything you guys have sacrificed for us over here. Even some tea packets can change everything in one day when you are on top of a mountain getting rocketed or shot at. Thanks! SSG Eric J, AFG 9-02-09

As you can see, I am still hanging in there. I am in Balad Iraq and just received a shipment of Tea. It was like a blessing ,Its so refreshing adding it to our bottled water and taking it on convoys. Its like a slice of home. All of us here cannot Thank you enough for the shipment. We all here realize that the economy is bad,and that hard working people like yourself use your hard earned money to support the Troops, just makes us bring down the Thunder faster. I guarantee that these soldiers in return will continue to keep the Freedom for the US and these people over here as well. God Bless and Thank You, SFC David T, Balad, Iraq, 9-02-09

The tea is great. we got huge box, When I opened it, I thought: "How am I going to get 'rid' of all this???? They went like hot cakes. Each little box sells for 3 dollars in the PX. People love them here. We are very grateful for everything you have done for us. Please send my deepest gratitude. This is way better than a yellow ribbon magnet. LTC John N., Iraq 8-31-09
I got to enjoy your package thoroughly.  I appreciate it so much.  The cakes were my breakfast and dinner last night.  I missed the ship's meals on both accounts.
LT Luis D., USS Nimitz, 8-31-09

I am Chaplain for the 72d Signal Battalion. (that replaced another of our units, the 63rd).  We were told of the wonderful support their Soldiers received from you, and I'm writing to let you know that we would be so very happy and grateful to establish a relationship with your organization. Just like the Soldiers of that unit, our Soldiers are scattered to the four winds. Some sites are more austere than others, so whatever you do to support our troops will be significant--and much appreciated! Many blessings! Patricia. CH (CPT) Patricia N., 72d ESB; "Always Fit to Fight" "Pro Deo et Patria" JBB, Iraq, 8-30-09

I think the day before yesterday we received a couple of boxes of tea. We have one of those water coolers that have the plastic 4 gallon jug on top that can be refilled and reused. We made the tea in there as well as give the tea out to whoever likes tea. The Mandarin Mango is pretty good! Tim - 1SG Timothy D., Bravo Co., 2-87, Wardak, AFG 8-30-09

Just wanted to let you know that we recieved the ice tea last Friday. Thanks. CPT Elvin C., Iraq 8-29-09

Wow, Thanks Again! We received the Lipton Tea. Everyone is really appreciative. I unpacked the boxes and left them all around the camp in different buildings. Thanks Again. Cheers, Dan. Chief Dan C, MSRON1, Kuwait 8-30-09

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the box of Lipton Honey Lemon Green Tea mix. They will be used and appreciated. Thank you. Respectfully, Jeff. W. M, JCC-1, TWR-N, Baghdad, Iraq 8-27-09
Hey! We received your tea packets yesterday. They are a big hit. Everyone is tired of plain water so it’s a nice change. The rest of the guys and I appreciate it . thanks  again ! SrAirman Brett H., AFG, 8-24-09

Thank you and the special crew for what you do for us here in the other site of the world.
LTC Alida R., 47th CSH, Iraq, 8-15-09

Thanks for all your support, you guys run a great organization.  1SG David C., AFG, 8-15-09

This wonderful letter came from SPC Maggie Hearn, of the 32d Signal Battalion, stationed at Camp Anaconda in Iraq.

I wanted to take a minute to let you know we have been steadily receiving packages over the last two weeks, I have just be down in Gardez doing inventories so haven't really been able to use my email til now. I am also leaving to go home on leave tomorrow for my 15days of R&R. I just wanted to let you know that everyone here, LOVES the packages, there are so many things that you sent and others on behalf of the organization, I am getting flooded with email, packages, lots of love and attention, and it has been great knowing everyone hear is taken care of. I cant thank you enough! Really, I cant, I have so many letters to write and am working on the pictures, we owe you guys a lot in response for your time and efforts. Our favorites, well, my personal favorite anyway, are the chocolate and peanut butter cookies, wow! Always a fave, I opened a box and they were gone in about 15 seconds, seriously! You guys are working so hard for us, and we all appreciate it so much.  Well, like I said, I have a lot of letters to write, and I will be working on a lot of them while on leave. Just a short email to tide you over! Thanks again from everyone, you should be hearing from a lot of them soon! 1LT Peter V., Afghanistan, 4-29-09

WOW!! That's a-lot of cookies. Thank you! I had to find a place to store the cookies, so the medical supply people were able to help me out. I have set-up a day and time to distribute the cookies out to wounded and the soldiers, airman, marines and sailors on the base. Besides passing cookies out here at Bagram, I am going to send some to the FOB's (Forward Operating Bases). These poor guys and gals out there are always last on the food chain. I have a contact that can take them out there by medivac (Helicopter) when they go out and pick-up patients. I will take some pictures of that and get them back to you as soon as I can. Please tell Nassau County Girl Scouts and DHL thank you. Thanks. MSgt Rudy P., Craig JT Hosp., Bagram AB, AFG, 4-24-09

I can honestly tell you that the Girl Scouts of America are near and dear to our hearts! We received the Girl Scout Cookies about a week ago. They arrived in wonderful condition thanks to DHL Express. There was a great assortment of cookies that proved to be very popular amongst the troops. We offloaded them in the main battalion area, and Soldiers were happy to relocate them! We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, New York, and the folks at DHL Express for getting them here! I'm SURE somebody took a picture, but I will have to locate it and send it in the next email. The Soldiers of the 51st Signal Battalion send their thanks and appreciation for such a generous gift.
CPT Jeffrey D., 51st SB, Iraq, 4-23-09

Just wanted to let you know that we received the packages and that we are very greatful for everyone back home that took their time any money to help the troops over seas. I also want to send a special thankyou for the DVD player it will help on the days/nights that were just sitting around. Thanks again all of the BLACKHAWKS from HM-15 great apperciate everything you've done. Thanks, AZAN Danny W, USN, 4-22-09
The last box arrived today. As we begin to pack up and get ready to return home, you can imagine how busy we are.
I as well as the Soldiers cannot thank you and the Pack enough - the items packed were a big "hit" and was greatly appreciated. MSG Harry S., 50th IBCT, Camp Bucca, Iraq, 4-21-09
I just returned from leave and picked-up my mail. We received the DVD players and are sincerely grateful for your continued generosity. Please pass on our appreciation to the gang back at Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon.
We will put these to good use. Thanks again. LTC Tracy B., TF115, Iraq 4-18-09

I would like to send a special thank you to everyone to has taken the time to send the special gifts to all those who serve in the military. Not only do we benefit from your acts of kindness, so do all our Airmen/Soldiers.  Your generosity and caring  hearts will never be forgotten.  I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. Lt. Col. Irene B., Chief Nurse, 332 CASF, Iraq 4-18--9

Wow, 450 boxes of cookies!!! Thank you for your commitment and dedication to supporting us over here! It will never go unnoticed, and is deeply appreciated by both patients and staff. Thank you for your generosity. SSgt Amy K, Balad AFTH, Iraq, 4-18-09

To all the great folks at the “Adopt a Soldier Platoon”… thank you for thinking of all of us serving in Iraq. I and about 350 other folks serve here in the hospital at Joint Base Balad. And while casualties are thankfully way down, we still do get them. It is a great lift to know that we are supported by great people like you back home and even more importantly that you are supporting the truly brave men and women who operate “outside of the wire” patrolling the streets of Iraq and doing the jobs that put them in harm’s way. God Bless you for what you do!
Sincerely, Lt Col Ken M, Balad AFTH, Iraq, 4-17-09

On behalf of all the ICU staff, Thank You For Everything That You Do For Us! Maj H, Balad AFTH, Iraq, 4-17-09

We just received the 450 boxes (of Girl Scout cookies) and everyone is so excited to get some.  I sent out a message to MDG all to come and get em’ and the place has been a buzz since with excited MDG personnel.  I also took the time to mention in the message that it was the goodness and appreciation from your organization and DHL that made it possible.  Thanks so much, we are honored to know our service is so appreciated and will surely enjoy the your gift of goodness.  Maj. Keith W., Balad AFTH, Iraq, 4-17-09

I could not express enough gratitude for the wonderful and greatly needed camoflage travel pillows. What a hit!!! The soldiers loved them and expressed how much more comfortable they felt on the plane en route to their destination. Some patients even used them to sit on since their wounds were a bit more precarious. Thank you for your wonderful idea, generosity, compassion, effort in mailing 8 boxes and for adopting many soldiers in this case. May God bless you in your endeavors.
Maj. Andrea E., 332 EAMDS, Joint Base Balad, Iraq, 4-13-09
You guys are AWESOME! I've been getting a lot of feedback from my guys down range in Irag and they can't believe how much the Unilever team pulled together for our troops. Please let your folks know how much their generosity and thoughtfulness is appreciated. MSgt Eric R., 103rd ACS, CT Air Natl Guard, 4-10-09

Hope all is well. Just wanted to let you know and say thank you for the boxes of personal hygiene items you sent for the troops. I really appreciate all you and your team have done for us. SGM Paul G., CT ARNG 4-3-09

On behalf of the Soldiers assigned to 2nd BN 113th IN, I want to thank you and the Cub Scout Pack for the generous Easter package they assembled. I am most certain that the package will cheer up the Soldiers and they will find uses for the items the pack assembled. I cannot Thank you enough for the generosity. MSG Harry S., NJ ARNG 4-3-09

I would like to say thank you for the Xbox Games and the other goodies that you sent to us while we are here in Iraq (JASG 50th IBCT). I recently purchased an Xbox 360 for myself on Christmas and a good portion of my collection is from you. That is really awesome. I hope all is well with you and thank you again for all that you have done.
SPC Jonathan P., Baghdad, Iraq, 3-20-09

Major Jon P. recently passed on one of the Xbox 360 MLB 2K9 games you sent over thru the Adopt a Soldier Platoon program. My friends and I are going to get a lot of use out of it over the next 2 months. Thank you very much for the game, and for all your support. Sincerely, CPT Brian S., NJ Army National Guard, Baghdad, Iraq, 3-20-09

From a letter dated 12 Feb 2009 recvd 2-28-09:
I would like to formally thank you for your generosity on behalf of all the Soldiers, especially during the holiday season. The holiday season is tghe most difficult time of year for Soldiers to be away from friends, family and loved ones. The support that the Soldiers have received while deployed has been tremendous. It is remarkable to see the changes in behavior when a soldier receives a package from home. Usually, the administrative staff will prepare aboxes for soldiers before they move out for duty on their mission. It brightens their day and gives them a more positive outlook while conducting their mission.
The Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon program is outstanding. The Soldiers are well aware of the remarkable support and will never forget the generosity. We would not be able to carry out our mission without the help and support of the great Americans at home. Again, I would like to thank you for making my job easier especially during the holiday season. CPT Thomas F., Commanding, 50th Chem. Co., NJ ARNG

The systems are here. Thanks a million. I am working with the command to organize a type of Soldier of the Tour competition to distribute the consoles. Let you know how it works out.
Your organization is amazing! Cheers, MAJ Jon P., 50th IBCT, Iraq, 2-15-09

First off, WOW, the Flip Camcorder is awesome! I have made some pretty awesome videos already and cant wait to get them uploaded. You have definitely gone way out on this one. It was an awesome suprise tho. Thank you for everything you have sent this tour and last! SSG Eric J., Afghanistan, 2-15-09
Thanks for the video camera, I received it 2 days ago. the guys are already putting it to use. I think mostly for their own entertainment Thanks again for your support. SSG Mark B., A Co., 1-114, Iraq 2-15-09

Thank you and all your team at Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. The three camcorders you sent arrived safely. I will get with the command to best use this gift with the Soldiers in our command. They will have to be used only on personal computers. Again, thank you and your team for your support and thoughtfulness. CH Ken B., Iraq 2-14-09

We’ve been busy wrapping things up out here over the last few weeks. It’s been a really long deployment and I think we’re all looking forward to getting back to the states. As we get ready to swap out we’re going to be swamped for a couple weeks until the new guys get up on their feet. I wanted to take this opportunity to send you a note of thanks for your support during this deployment. We’ve had some highs and lows during this tour and being stuck out here during the holidays certainly didn’t make things any easier. One of the few things that I could rely on was the well stocked care packages that arrived every couple of weeks. I just wanted to let you know that we all appreciate what you are doing for all us. You guys really do a great job. Thanks again and take care,
Capt. Jeremy D., USMC, AFG, 2-8-09

I can't begin to thank you and your employees enough for all of the great things that you've sent us. Talk about a morale booster!!! We have it pretty good here at Camp Patriot, but the thoughts, prayers and goodies make it that much more bearable. Your efforts and time spent putting these boxes together are so greatly appreciated!! Please express our sincerest gratitude to your fellow employees for us. God bless you! Warmest Regards, EQCM (SCW) Alan B. deG., U.S.N., Kuwait 2-6-09

Top o' the morning. Well The Crew has done it again my friend. The box with the DVD players and the digital cameras has landed and let me just say, "Wow." This is really incredible. Oh, the Tasty-Cakes (my personal favorite) and other goodies were put out by the coffee mess in our Joint Ops Center for everybody's enjoyment. I'm sure they'll gone in a few hours........um, make that few minutes. This is an incredible follow-up to the Christmas bombing all of you at Adopt A Soldier, and the fine folks you work with like the Planet Tool & Engineering crew, facilitated. I cc'd our Command Master Chief as well as two of our other swarthy Master Chiefs. What I'm going to propose is that the Master Chiefs take the "loot" and possibly distribute it out to individuals as rewards for a job-well-done, one of our upcoming MWR events, or maybe to some young sailors who may not have the extra $$$ to get their own. I know the Master Chiefs are going to take care of the guys the right way. Once again please accept our giant THANK YOU to all the incredible folks that looking out for us.  Hoo-yah, LCDR Tom M., Kuwait 2-6-09

I want to thank you for the small USB videocameras. I pulled out one and love it. I have been carrying it with me all over BAF and taking little videos and then download them to my computer. It will be a good way to remember this deployment. I will give the rest to Michell to use with the MWR committee.
Dr. Jennifer W., TF Med, Craig AFTH, Afghanistan 2-5-09

Just received the flips last night and boy are these things incredible!!!!!! I have my PAO Officer (the one that is all around the area) using one. I will also send one to my Chaplain team (at another location) so they can capture what they are doing. These are some neat toys!!!  Chaplain Daniel M., 10th CSH, Iraq 2-5-09

On behalf of the soldiers of Charlie Co., 2nd BN 113th Infantry Regiment, NJ National Guard, Woodbridge, NJ, I would personally like to thank you and all that have sent us the wonderful gifts and letters. 1SG Brian T., HHC 81st BSTB, Iraq, 2-1-09
I want to thank you and all who contributed, for all the donations you sent the 86th CSH at Ibn Sina Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, from 2007 to 2009. We are all safely home and back at our originating home stations. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. Deployments are much easier when we know that we have America standing behind us and supporting us. God Bless you and God Bless America, Sincerely, CPT Kristine V., 1-31-09

Just wanted to let you know the the boxes of neck pillows and the 3 DVD players arrived this week. I have taken the DVD players over to the Dir. Of Nursing so she can ensure they are labeled, inventoried and we keep accountability for them. The patients will definitely enjoy having them available.
Thanks so very much!!  Ch. Doran K, Kuwait EMF, 1-30-09

We have received everything mentioned. Actually the cookies arrived a couple of weeks ago but the other Items, DVD players, Pillows and Axe shampoo just arrived on the 28th Jan. Just to give you our plan, all of the pillows and shampoo will be provided to the Patients and Soldiers in the Hospital. We have planned on Two of the DVD players being placed in two of our Hospital wards for Patients to use while here in the Hospital. The 3rd DVD player were are planning on giving away to one of our lower enlisted Soldiers through a drawing that we will have during the Super Bowl. There is a big get together and watch party for the game so we thought we would be able to brighten up one of our lower ranking Soldiers with a Super Bowl gift. Thanks again. Tell everyone how much myself and our Soldiers appreciate everything you do and have done. 1LT Stephen R., 345th CSH, Mosul, Iraq 1-29-09

We just received a million head pillows and every single person I gave them to was incredibly excited. You have made many people happy. I also got the hair products, which I passed out to all of the guys. Thanks! Dr. Jennifer W., Craig Joint Theater Hosp, AFG 1-27-09

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE SOLDIERS WITH THE PILLOWS!!!!!!'The only thing I had was my disposable camera to grab some shots. I have many of the boxes ready for our patients to transport and these are going to be awesome. The burn Soldier that I have is using his right now to help elevate his head....Thank you again! Chaplain Daniel M., 10th CSH, Iraq, 1-27-09

Just wanted to let you know that the amount of support that we received over Christmas and New Years was overwhelming, to say the least.  We had gone without mail for several weeks but we were fortunate to get a USMC C-130 to bring us some mail on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas day.  We sorted through the packages and made some “mini care packages” to hand out to the Marines.  Thanks again.
Capt. Jeremy D. , AFG, 1-04-09

I hope this letter finds everyone doing well.  We had a quiet Christmas here in  Iraq.  My men and I had a few visitors, but besides that I gave them most of the day to relax.  Naturally, we would all rather be at home.  Now is when we think of family the most.  However, Christmas means we are over six months into our deployment.  Time is truly flying by. I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.  Thank you all for your continued support and prayers.  I miss and think about you often. Merry Christmas. CPT Adam R., Iraq, 12-25-08
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all of your hard work, patriotism and philanthropic efforts. The 51st Signal Battalion has received several boxes from some of the organizations that you are in contact with and we have enjoyed them immensely! We are busy writing 'thank you' letters to many of them, but are unable to crank them out fast enough! Nevertheless, we are extremely grateful for their generosity and  thoughtfulness! Please remember, we are very fortunate to be in the thoughts and prayers of so many patriotic Americans and blessed to be on the receiving end of so much generosity. We will do our very best to thank each organization personally. Thanks again and please have a very Merry Christmas and New Year! God Bless! CPT Jeffrey D., Iraq, 12-24-08

Just wanted to let you know that I got the package that you described...once it is open I will let you know what is in it. I also got two boxes of dog stuff. I passed it on to the VETs that are co-located with us. We got about 10 boxes of dog stuff in the past couple of weeks, from Baystate Kennel, Felicity Hill Rescue, and McFarlands. I think all three were given my information from AaSP. Y
ou and the other supporters have truly made this Christmas special for our unit! Thank you for everything that you do for us. It is such a great feeling to know that there are wonderful people that really care!

FYI: I read the article from CPT Hannah B. She is here with us....we all live in the same area. I have many friends that will be going home soon. It is wonderful and sad at the same time. I will really miss my friends but so happy that they will be home soon. They have all done a great job here and the 15 months is very hard on everyone so it is time for them to go. Thank you for everything! Merry Christmas, 1LT Stephanie D., 528th Med Det, Iraq, 12-23-08

This from Kuwait in thanks to a shipment by our Special Friends at Planet Tool & Engineering, O'Fallon, MO:

"Happy Holidays Gentlemen. I was out of the country for a couple of days and had to take shelter because the package bombs you guys sent started falling and can I simply say, "WOW!!!!" You and your folks went all out. I've been taking the boxes around to our units that are outside the main camp and dropping off the boxes. I'll just sit back and watch as each watch section tears into the goodies. Good times and smiles my friends, good times and smiles. In fact, here's a note from our Command Master Chief who happened to be at our boat maintenance house when one of the packages arrived, "Thanks so much for the BIG BOX of goodies!!!!
All of the guys will really appreciate it!!! V/R EQCM"  //  "We have some guys that are out and away from home base to the tune of a couple hundred miles. I'm going to get a couple of the packages out to them. They are going to flip-out when that bomb gets dropped.

Thanks for everything you guys and happiest of holidays. Ours are that much better with all the amazing support.

HOO-YAH"  LCdr Thomas M., MSRON1, Kuwait 12-22-08

I want to extend a deep and heartfelt Thank you for the Christmas Care Package you sent me. I received it today and I was amazed at what you had assembled - I was speechless when I opened it and appreciate the

"touch from home" during the holiday season. I appreciate the time and effort your family took to assemble and send the package. I means so much to me and my Soldiers. The items you sent will go to great use for myself and my Soldiers.  I cannot thank you enough for what you have done. It means so much to me and my Soldiers that New Jerseans are taking Care of New Jerseans. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

MSG Harry S., NJ ARNG, Iraq 12-22-08 (in a note sent to a family that sent a Christmas package to him)

Hi there!!
I would really like to say thank you….you couldn’t have picked better stuff to send me.  The Chicken noodle soup was exactly what I was looking for…..i never thought I would miss soup so much!! J  Thank you for all the goodies…especially the brown hair bands that I have been trying to find over here this whole time.  Perfect!!  As you might know, our hair bands must match your hair color and they usually only have black bands over here.  I also gave a couple to my coworker who has had the same problem.  Thank you soooo much!! Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! SSgt Kelly B-L, Balad AF Theater Hosp, Iraq, 12-20-08

To all our friends at Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon,
Most sincere congratulations on this wonderful achievement medal!! Our troops are constantly reminded of the respect & caring that follows them here at home, in LARGE PART because of the undying kindness that you show them through your support!!! You're such an amazing bunch of people! You are BENEVOLENCE defined!!! Merry Christmas! Peace to you & your families in 09! Blessings & love,
Celeste T. 12-19-08 (wife of one of our adoptees)

I received another pair of big boxes today! the 1/2-mile walk back from our headquarters building with all of these packages is really helping my upper-body strength. my arms are quite sore from this latest trip, but it is well worth the effort. thank you so much! SGT Matt L.250th BSB, NJ ARNG, Iraq 12-18-08

Thanks so very much for the box of gifts sent by Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon! We have distributed the items to the troops already, and they were received with heartfelt thanks. The games were a big hit, and went to the Warrior Return Unit where they can be enjoyed by several people.
Again, Thanks so very much for your support! It is heartwarming to know that so many folks at home are thinking of us this time of year! Merry Christmas and Blessings over your new year! Very Respectfully, Chaplain Doran K, Kuwait Exp Med Fac, 12-18-08

Thanks for thinking of us. The school supplies will go to a very poor school outside of Tikrit. Thanks so much.
SGT Candice M., Iraq, 12-18-08

I just would like to take this time to thank you for sending your care package. I'm from Pequannock NJ, its great that NJ residents are supporting the troops. Overall I'm very proud to serve and it is this nations greatest honor to serve. It truly is great to see the support that I'm getting from everyone while being here in Iraq. I actually just got back from my 2 week leave, and arriving home and just the appreciation I recieve just shows that people care.   So the news in Iraq...despite what is seen on the news things really are changing here for the better. I'm lucky enough to have two local speakers that help me translate. One is from Basra (southern iraq) and one is from Bagdad (northern). When ever I get the chance I like to personally talk to these locals and get my news from the source. Overall from what I've seen and been hearing we really have done so much for this country and they are so thankful. You always see on the news how they hate us etc, but in reality they love us, want our help and eventually want us to leave but not too quick because they are scared of a revolution. The country is becoming more stable everyday and in the 6 months I've been here it has calmed down a lot. Thanks again for your support!  1LT Brett R., INF, NJ ARNG, Iraq, 12-18-08

Many thanks for all the support. What an incredible treat. I will make sure to get the goodies passed around for all to enjoy; maybe even get some pictures for the team back in MO. I'll be on the look-out and let you all know when the fun begins. Thanks Again for the support and for having our backs while we're away. Hoo-YAH!!! LCDR Tom M., USN,  MSRON-1, Kuwait, 12-17-8

Thank you so much for all of the holiday cheer that has come our way! I got two big boxes today, and a box with some computer games. A lot of guys here have already gotten a lot of use out of the games, and the two boxes were stripped clean :-)  I
was also informed of the large banner that showed up here for us, thank you so much. Thanks for thinking of all of us during the holiday season. We're thinking about everyone at home. Happy holidays! SGT Matt L., 250th BSB, NJ ARNG, Iraq 12-17-08

TREES MADE IT!!!  6 Real X-Mas trees for the AFTH at Balad.  I carried them into the facility and people were stopping me asking if they could smell the trees.  It was priceless. Our Morale committee was ecstatic and they are planning a Christmas tree decorating party for this weekend.  We’ll have one for our Clinic across the street our CASF across the street and 4 to put up around the facility. Home run again!  Thank you Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon and DHL !! Maj. Michael F, Balad AF Theater Hosp, Iraq, 12-16-08

Tuskegee Medics: As we prepare for the holidays it’s time to show our spirit by doing some facility decorating together.  Let’s trim some trees with our deployed family.  Thanks to DHL, Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon and the ‘Thanks to the Troops Event’ we have 6 REAL (smell like pine) Christmas trees to put up and decorate in our facility.  The CASF and Clinic will receive one along with decorations and the rest will be put up in the basement where a winter wonderland will be created this weekend in preparation for our Holiday Party.  If you would like to help or have decorations that you would like to donate, the Morale Committee will be decorating this Saturday beginning at 1700.  We will have medics trimming trees in the Clinic, CASF and basement so please join us if you can. Happy Holidays! TSgt Chandra D., Balad AF Theater Hosp, Iraq, 12-16-08

I want to thank you all again for the outstanding support your provided to the Mosul CSH this past 15 months. You have all made a significant impact on the morale and well-being of our Soldiers. Take Care and Happy Holidays. Sincerely, CPT Hannah B, 86th CSH, Mosul, Iraq, 12-12-08

A thank you email to our supporters who sent Christmas gifts:
Your gift and Holiday Greetings are a great feeling . We don't even know each other and yet you took time from your busy schedules to send us a gift. We appreciate and are thankful for your kindness. We loved the blanket with "Support our Troops" plus all the goodies. Excellent they guys loved it. I am sending you some pictures of the guys which received your gifts. The group picture is we are learning hand to hand combat, the one the hummer break time from driving. I'm the one on the far left of the group picture. Happy Holidays, SFC Fred R., NJ ARNG, 12-16-08

Dear Angels of the New Jersey Federal Credit Union and Adopt A Soldier Platoon:

I have taken far too long to respond to your most gracious gift of airline pillows! Needless to say you made some of our wounded hero’s more comfortable on the long and uncomfortable flight back home.  I took the pillows over to our Wounded Warrior Clinic for the Liaisons to hand out when we have flights departing. I am continually amazed at the outpouring of donations, appreciation and devotion to our military family. It is not just the wounded warrior you touch but all of us when we see such self-sacrifice from our loved ones back in the real world.

We all grow weary of what seems endless days away from our families and loved ones; this small gift helps to brighten the moment and lets us all know we are not just some nameless, faceless individual away on a journey.

I am the Head Nurse of the Operating Room at Landstuhl and have a very dear member of my family away on the very same tour. My wife Judy is also an Operating Room Nurse at Landstuhl and has recently left to go "Downrange" to deliver her special skills to the injured military members of the United States and coalition forces in Iraq. This is the first time we have been separated on deployments and I am now able to comfortably say the ones left behind have the most difficult job! I never knew it was so difficult on them / us! I miss her terribly and no amount of prayer may relieve my fears for her safety and comfort save the thoughts of individuals such as yourselves also praying for her and all our courageous men and women in harms way. We go through the daily ritual shared by thousands of soldiers, wives, husbands, parents and siblings of marking the calendar as each day passes nearer to our reunion.

I may never be able to express my appreciation for all that "Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon" and its angels have done for my family in uniform and myself. Thank you seems so inadequate for all you have given us. The pillows are comfortable but the love with which they are given is the greatest gift of all. God bless you all and pray that he forever holds you in the palm of his hand! MAJ Dennis L., 11-22-08

(Letter to Buy Buy stores): Hello!   My name is Jennifer.  I am writing to thank you for sending us the the great care package. We are located near Baghdad which is close to the center of the country.  It is very hot and dusty here in the summer but is cooling down now for the winter. We just got rain for the first time 3 days ago. What a mess! The military here is a diverse group that includes SOLDIERS, SAILORS, MARINES and AIRMEN.  My SOLDIERS are all in the Army National Guard from different parts of New Jersey.  One common thread is our appreciation for the support from great groups like yours.  Everybody says that without it we could not do our job.   You all should be very proud of yourselves.  You represent the very best of what the United States of America stands for. Once again thank you for your generosity and support.  Feel free to contact us any time. Keep up the good work!  Sincerely, Your friends in the 1-114th Infantry, New Jersey Army National Guard, 11-12-08

(Letter to Buy Buy stores): We would like to thank you for support. The necessities and comfort items are well received by the troops. The  troops work very long days with very little time for themselves. Your continued support to them provides the drive to go back out there day in and day out. It gives them something to talk to fellow troops about while moving out on their mission and something to look forward to on their way back in.
Again, I would like to thank you personally for your support to the troops. The support from home brings them that much closer. CPT Thomas F., 50th Chem. Co., Iraq, 11-1-08

I wanted to email you and tell you how much we appreciated the box of goodies you sent us.  The Snuggle especially!!!  You never know how much you take for granted until you don’t have easy access to it.  Thank you so much for everything you have done and will continue to do for us over here.
SSgt Kelly L, Balad Hosp., 10-31-08

Just wanted to say a quick THANK YOU for the care package we received last week.  As you can tell we were really excited!  We all really appreciate all the goodies, but mostly your support.  Thanks for thinking of us and I hope everyone that had a part  will be blessed with tons more.  It was great knowing how much you guys care.  =)Thanks again, A1C Clara O, Balad Hosp., 10-27-08

Thank you so much for the items.  We were very excited to get something just for us.  It tends to be a boys club over here sometimes!   Thanks to you we’ve got Beauty in Balad!!   Thanks again and I sent the website link to my family and they thank  you for taking care of me as well.

TSgt Chandra D, Balad Hosp., 10-27-08

I would like to thank you for the care package that we received and the generous support that you provide to us.   As you can tell from the pictures, the items were greatly appreciated and brought smiles to our faces.  Thanks again. MSgt Carrie H., Balad Hosp. 10-27-08

Nice Timing,
At the same time your e-mail came through … so did your package for the ladies in the flight.  They were very excited and very thankful. Nice call on the package for the ladies!! I’ll send a couple pictures with this e-mail.  Don’t know if they’re webpage worthy but I’ll think you’ll like ‘em!  Maj. Michael F., Balad Hosp., 10-25-08

(ed. note: They were worthy alright! One made the home page)

Just wanted to drop a quick thank you for the protein snack box we received. They are perfect for the soldiers to put in their pocket for a quick snack while on duty. Thanks for all your support, on behalf of all my soldiers.
CPT Eric F., NJ ARNG, Iraq 10-3-08

Thank you for the Slim Fast chews. Received them on Saturday. I already have them on their way to my troops in Afghanistan. I was visiting them last week and they are in high spirits and say thanks for everything they have received so far from all of you.

We just received the Slim-Fast snacks. They are very good, the soldiers are going to love them. Thank you very much for your continued support to the 113 Infantry. It is good to be reminded that folks at home do appreciate what we are doing. Thank you again.
CPT Vincent S., NJ ARNG, Iraq 9-22-08

We just got the Xbox 360’s! Thanks! That is great. In our clinic we don’t have a TV, so we are working on that. Hopefully we can set up a nice place for people to relax here at the combat stress office (as an alternative to the MWR). I am also planning on sending one of the units out to a new and very small outpost where I’m sure it will be well used and appreciated. With winter coming it will be important for us to have resources for people to keep occupied and entertained. Thank you and your contributors so much for your support!
Capt. Jason P.,
Combat Stress Control, AFG 9-21-08

I have been meaning to write to you since I came home from OIF IV in 2006 with A/Co 29 BSB 29 IBCT of the Hawaii Army National Guard. I think today would be a appropriate day to say a big MAHALO NUI LOA (Thank You) to you and your organization for all your efforts in keeping our fighting men and women emotionally, mentally, and spiritually fit. It is because of your tireless efforts and dedication to all military personnel that long deployment to OIF or OEF became more manageable.

In 2006 as a combat deploying First Sergeant you made my duties easier when I would receive those packages and give them to my soldiers and watch them open them, it was like x-mas every month because they would have a Twinkle in their eye. Now in 2008 my old unit has deployed again, this time with a new First Sergeant because I am now re-assigned as a Staff NCOIC in the State Joint Force Head Quarters.

On this special day, I would like to say Malama Pono, A hui hoe kako, Translated into English it basically means Together we shall work for Peace. (Hui = group) (Malama Pono = Make peace or right what is wrong) (A hui hoe kaka = Work the fields, tire less effort)
MSG Yale A., HIARNG, 9-11-08

I am writing to thank you for your generous support of the Service Members and civilian contractors stationed here. The items generously donated by you and other like-minded individuals bring smiles to the recipients here.

Even something as simple as a pack of gum or a piece of their favorite candy can remind a person of what life is like Stateside and who theyare over here serving. The various food and hygiene items included in packages help supplement what the Service Members were able to bring with them and sometimes can't buy at the Post Store due to the lengthy supply lines and requisition times.

Thank you for your willingness to support the troops while they serve the people of the United States in any region of the globe to which they are called. In deepest appreciation,
Chaplain Ken B., southern Iraq, in a letter received 9-9-08.

Again, I cannot say thank you enough for the Care Packages Adopt A Soldier Platoon has sent us. The Care Packages, especially the Italian pasteries gave us a little touch of home during our 2 1/2 months at Camp McGregor, New Mexico. As I indicated before in a previous email, the Tea-To-Go packets were a big hit, they were the first to go, followed by the anti-perspariant and the other goodies.
As you are aware by now, our Training is done here and we are all excited to finally make our way across the "big pond" to Iraq and start our Mission.

We will receive our Travel Pillows prior to boarding the aircraft Sunday morning and I will capture pictures of the Soldiers receiving them and using them during our 23 hour flight. I am confident that they will be a big hit with the Soldiers as was the products you sent in the Care Packages.

I cannot say this enough, THANK YOU for everything you and the Adopt A Soldier Platoon have done for the Soldiers of the 2nd BN 113th IN and the 50th IBCT.  Thank you, MSG Harry S., BN Senior Operations NCO/HHC First Sergeant, 8-30-08

I am a deploying NJ Guardsman and a fellow NJ Credit Union Member. I took a picture of a few Companies from the 2-113th INF getting ready to ship out from Texas and thought you'd like to see the travel pillows you so generously supplied going off to war. Again thank you for all that you are doing for us. Every Soldier appreciates it. Cheers, MAJ Jon P., 50th IBCT 8-30-08

Thanks alot for your two boxes -- another big hit -- the guys love it. we took pictures and video of the guys.
thank you again. SFC Wilfredo R., 250th BSB, Fort Bliss, TX  8-21-08

I just received your two gynormous packages with the cookies. Unilever supplies and all the other great stuff. It totals 100 pounds of comfort items. I will spread it around the company. MAJ John T., 50th IBCT, Fort Bliss, TX 8-19-08

Thanks for the package we received on Wed, with all kinds of personal care products, food, and really tasty baked goods!  Really good type of frosted cookies also - the HHC, 113th Soldiers ate them all up! Thanks again for this, the pillows, everything!  MAJ Jason F., 50th IBCT, Fort Bliss, TX 8-15-08

All of the boys have redeployed safetly and are now on leave. They return to the unit in a few weeks and begin the process of recovering equipment and preparing for their next mission. I want to express my deepest thanks for all that you and the Unilever Team have done for the boys. MSGT Brian W., 503rd INF (Airborne), 8-12-08

We've been really busy here with patients from things that go BOOM!  Thank you to all these wonderful people that have been so generous to all the troops deployed near and far and to all the support they offer our wounded warriors. I salute you and all those that are behind you!  Thank you, CPT Kristina M, 86th CSH, Iraq 8-10-08

Thank you so much for all you are doing for our military. Those who receive your donations here at Landstuhl are always amazed that people at home are thinking of them and sending them items to keep them occupied on the road to recovery. The young people who have sacrificed everything for us are thanking us. Isn't the American Spirit something to behold!  You would be so proud to meet these people, and see how much they appreciate your thoughtfulness. By the time they receive the wonderful games, CD's, audio-books, videos, etc,  they have no idea who the originator is, but they do know, someone at home is thinking of them. You have made a remarkable contribution to the American Warfighter and you can all take pride in knowing that you gave above and beyond that of the average citizen.

I would like to personally thank you for all you have done. You have certainly restored my faith in Patriotism. It has been an honor to serve here and an honor to get to know you. God Bless our Troops and all of you who keep them in your thoughts and prayers. CMDR Molly J., Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, 8-9-08

Thank you very much for the tea, and the protein chews. they are much appreciated and are well liked. my platoon is thankful for your kindness. I am sorry it has taken a while to email a thank you, as you may know we are very busy. but the soldiers of my platoon send their thanks. you guys are great. SPC Kyle H., Iraq 8-4-08

We picked up the x-box and games (the box had come open during shipping, but i think it had everything in it.) the ice tea powder, the slim fast carmel protein snacks, the guitar hero, and the salt water taffy (which is probably the best taffy I have ever had.). We all just want to tell you guys thank you very much. I'm going to go play on the x-box now so i'll talk to you later. Thanks again, SSG Matt C., Iraq, 8-1-08

Adopt a Soldier Platoon,
we sincerely appreciate the packages you've been sending out. Between the Pomegranite tea to-go packs, the big box of goodies from the kindegarten class, the deoderant, and those protein snacks, the 4TH Support Battalion has been living large and for that we thank you. If theres anything you need from us, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks. v/r SGT Vincent L., Iraq 7-25-08

We received the Salt Water Taffy and it is yummy.  I just wanted to email and say thank you from everyone in Logistics. v/r
Stephanie D., Maj, USAF, MSC, Balad Hosp., 7-20-08

The Tea To Go was a big hit for the Soldiers - finally something for the Soldiers to drink beside water.  As you can imagine, water and Gatorade get old after a while. 1SG Harry S., 50th IBCT, Fort Bliss, TX, 7-20-08

I received your packages yesterday, they guys love it as you know it's very hot and the ice tea is a BIG hit. We appreciate what you are doing for us... keep on doing the great work... SFC Wilfredo R., NJ Natl Guard, 7-19-08

Just recieved the package with the ICE TEA mix. Only took 4 days to arrive! I think that's a record for the USPS system. Thank you so much for the goodies. SGM Paul G., 1109th AVCRAD, 7-10-08

Thank you for what you are doing. Your continued support of me and other deployed soldiers has certainly not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. It means a lot to know people back home are thinking about us and care.  Thank you again and be sure to pass my appreciation along to all those involved in the program.
SGT Jeffrey P., Iraq, 6-29-08

Thanks for all that you do. It makes a huge difference to have care packages and comfort items sent from the US. Everything about this region is complicated so any and every item we receive is a blessing.  MAJ Jemal B, NJ ARNG, Afghanistan, 6-29-08

Just wanted to let you know that we recieved the two packages from Lincoln kindergarten class. We took a few pictures and in the process of collecting the thank you cards from our Soldiers. To Adopt-a-Soldier and Friends:
Thank you very much for the Call of Duty 4 game. It will come in very handy for us and the border team. Everybody is already taking turns, trying to finish it. And beat each other. We really appreciate everything you guys have done for us. Thanks Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, XBox and Activision.
Well, let me tell you a little about ourselves. Six of us are from the National Guard and four of us are active duty Army. We are all from different backgrounds but in common we all are infantry. We love doing our job for our country and our families.
Once again I want to thank you very much for all you have sent. And taking the time out of your day to do this for us. It will be used every day by us and the following team when we leave. Thank you very much. God Bless you guys and the United States of America. (From a letter received June 28, 2008, from SSG Joel M. , active Army, in Afghanistan, teamed with the NJ Army Nat'l Guard)

Thanks for your continued support of the troops. The ladies care packet was a big hit with all our ladies. LTC Deborah D., 115 TF Med, 6-27-08

While in Afghanistan I have benefited from organizations such as yours as well as from the generosity of the American public as a whole. Thank you for what you do and please ensure that your members/ supporters understand the deep gratitude that myself and the other service member feel - know that your efforts and generosity are deeply appreciated. Lt.Col. Scott F, 1/7 Marines, 6-26-08 (The 1/7 Marines will be back in Iraq next year)

Did I tell you the coffee came in?  It tastes great, smells great and the guys that drink coffee all day are really trying to get their fingers on it. But I wanted to give you a heads up that it came in THX!!!!!!!!! SFC Kevin H., 82d Airborne, Iraq 6-26-08

I would like to thank you for all of the support that you have personally spent on our behalf in organizing care packages, the x-boxes and tirelessly looking out for us.  Everyone associated with Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon should be extremely proud of the work that they are doing.  You all play a vital role in elevating the morale of the sailors, Marines, soldiers and airmen that you reach out and touch. CDR John D., IBU-22, June 22, 2008

I am typing this from my home computer!  It is great to be back. Glad you received the poster. It is not nearly enough to recognize the great work you and your team are doing. We really appreciate it. I am glad you have linked up with the other guys. I am sure their Soldiers will be appreciative. Thanks again from my entire battalion.  LTC John D., 2-12th FA, 6-16-08 (after returning home from tour in Iraq)

We sincerely appreciate your love, prayers, letters, cards, encouragements, care packages and support.  Your support and gratitude has indeed put smiles on our faces.  You have made us feel that our sacrifices here in this desert are not in vain. May God's richest and best be yours indeed! CPT Ernest I., Chaplain, 63rd ESB, Iraq 5-31-08

I cannot tell you how much I personally have appreciated the support that you and all of the generous people who support Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon and the x-box and scrubs projects. It has been a very challenging 15 months, and very difficult to be away from home and family, but to know that there are people out there like you who understand and appreciate the sacrifice, and work so hard to make sure we know we are supported at home has been a tremendous boost. Thanks to you all. From Southern Iraq, I salute YOU! LTC Jennifer P., 31st CSH, Iraq, 5-27-08
