Memorial Walk of Remembrance for Father Mychal Judge, OFM September 6, 2009 31st Street to Ground Zero
Each year since 9/11, there has been a Walk of Remembrance to honor the life of Father Mychal Judge, OFM, Chaplain for the Fire Department of New York killed at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. The walk, starting from Ladder Co. 24 on 31st Street and ending at Ground Zero, honors the fallen FDNY chaplain and all the FDNY, NYPD and EMT heroes killed that day. The walk features an opening mass at the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi and several stops and prayers at FDNY Fire Houses along the way, with bells of remembrance tolling at walk's end at St. Peter's Church.
Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon was honored to attend the walk this year. Pictures follow below.
