Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon's President, Alan Krutchkoff, was selected to embark on the USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7), a multi-purpose amphibious US Navy warship from Norfolk, VA, to New York City harbor for Fleet Week 2010. The USS Iwo Jima depart Norfolk NS Monday, May 24, and arrived in NYC Wednesday morning, May 26.
The slide show above (documentary in the works) will give you insight into the great work our Sailors and Marines provide our nation in an up front and personal way on board this glorious warship. See updated video above for the special event held at CitiField on Wednesday, May 26, in which AaSP gave away Xbox games to Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen (courtesy of Microsoft Xbox, 2K Sports and the NY Mets).

On Wednesday evening, May 26, AaSP and the NY Mets staged a special event for visiting Sailors and Marines to the Mets/Phillies baseball game at Citi Field.
Through a generous donation from Microsoft Xbox and 2K Sports, AaSP was able to donate Major
League Baseball 2K10 Xbox 360 games to our Sailors and Marines. A Met player signed
each game and 25 lucky Sailors and Marines left the stadium with this
great prize. The Mets signed an additional 25 games and these will be
shipped to our troops in the Middle East! Thanks Microsoft, 2K Sports
and the NY Mets! (Thanks Jay and Nicole for arranging the event and
thanks Paul from MSFT!).
See above for pictures of the event and the video with shout outs from players and Mets front office personnel.
