Holiday 2006 Care Cartons

We shipped lots of goodies for all our adoptees and their buddies this holiday season. Movies, footballs, disposable video cameras, candy, beef jerky, Slim Jims, Q-tips, socks, body wash and hand warmers were all part of these cartons. On top of that, we had special Christmas presents for every adoptee, thanks to the generosity of the Cresskill, NJ, crew. And to top that off, the Pepsi Lipton Partnership picked up the charges on all this freight. What a great holiday gift this was for our brave Americans.

• Thanks to Pediatric Dentistry of Litchfield County, CT, in Torrington, CT... for supplying 400lbs of Halloween candy that went into all the Holiday Care Cartons (23 of them); thanks to Bethlehem Elementary School for candy and cards for the troops. The candy was loaded into heavy mylar zip-loc bags. (thanks Christine)
• A disposable video camera was sent to adoptees not able to take advantage of the DVD project to allow them to take 20 mins of video and send it home to their loved ones.Cameras were nicely discounted for us by CVS in Fair Lawn, NJ
• A leather football was also included - bought from Efinger Sporting Goods in Bound Brook, NJ, at a very good price. Tom Hoey of Efingers also threw in hand pumps and needles for our guys.
• Wonderful foot care kits from Steve at Opportunity Buying were sent to the 28th CSH nurses and women soldiers at 324th ITSB (thanks Steve and also Terry)
• The great folks from News Corp and Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment provided a generous selection of DVDs for our troops this holiday season. We are grateful for their continued support (thanks Andrew, Steve and Chris)
• The Spina and Cutro families and friends and Cresskill police (and one Bergenfield, NJ, police officer) created special holiday gift packages for all our adoptees! These were shipped with the Holiday Care Cartons for 2006. Thanks to Lara and the entire crew for this extremely generous and wonderful effort!
