Operation Health Fair Baghdad, Iraq
When we learned that CPT Kristine V. of the 86th CSH at Ibn Sina Hospital was looking to have a Health Fair, we asked several of our special friends to help. One such friend, Ben D. of HCCS, had already spearheaded our Operation Scrubs, which turned out to be very successful. Now Ben was at it again. Here are his own words:
Our latest mission is for a Health Fair in Baghdad. Colonel E. and Captain V. are looking to host a health fair in Baghdad for military, civilians and Iraqis. They are looking for pamphlets or brochures on preventative medicine, STD, cancer (breast, testicular, skin) prevention, women's health, men's health, HTN and diabetes prevention, psych issue such as stress management, sleep hygiene, PTSD. They would also like to give away items such as stress balls, pens, little calculators, etc.
Frank A., Olga S., and Jeff K. of the North Shore - LIJ Health System ( www.northshorelij.com) in Long Island, New York , organized a donation of several hundred items including lip balm and portable dry soap compacts for the fair. Thanks to Ben, Frank, Olga, Jeff and everyone who is helping CPT V. have a successful Health Fair.
