One of two Redskins "Pregame" footballs donated by the Washington Redskins for the troops' Super Bowl Party on Camp Anaconda in Iraq. If you look real hard you can see the team name stamped under the NFL logo under the seam. Thank you Redskins for this very very cool donation!
Definitely one of the coolest donations we've received from any of the NFL teams is this full-size Buccaneers flag. This will most definitely dress up the party - especially for the Bucs fans there! Thank you Tampa Bay Buccaneers!!!
Super Bowl XLII Party at Camp Anaconda (2-3-08 Update)

Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon has been at work getting souvenirs from NFL teams and their Cheerleading squads for the Big Game Party on Camp Anaconda this season. We've collected quite a few souvenirs for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines on Camp Anaconda and they will go out this coming week.

2-3-08: The final Super Bowl XLII Party donation was received by the Fathead company. They donated a giant NY Giants and a giant New England Patriots helmet Fathead for the party festivities. These special decals will really liven up the walls for the party! Thanks Fathead!

1-17-08: Well, we got another extremely cool donation today. The Washington Redskins sent us two practice footballs (marked 'Pregame' on the laces) for our troops (see picture above). These are wonderful souvenirs and the first NFL footballs that we've received from ANY team. We are certain these will be extremely sought after by the Super Bowl party attendees, especially any Washington Redskins fans. Thank you Melanie and thanks Washington Redskins for this awesome donation!

1-11-08: Two more teams sent wonderful goodies for our troops today - The Seattle Seahawks and The San Diego Chargers. Both teams sent team and cheerleader pictures as well as other goodies, including 12th man buttons and pennants. The Chargers also sent fantastic mini footballs with the Army logo on them. Thanks Chargers and Seahawks (thanks Connie) for being with us since our first Super Bowl party three years ago! Also, Fathead is sending us a large Cowboys and Patriots helmet for the wall. Thanks Fathead for your continued support of our projects, including the Super Bowl and our softball league support at Anaconda!

1-7-08: Today we received probably the coolest thing we've ever gotten for one of our Super Bowl parties. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sent us a FLAG, along with pennants, keychain lanyards and team pictures. The flag is huge (see picture above)! We are most appreciative for the Bucs' generosity and kindness and we're sure the troops will love the flag, especially the Bucs fans there! Thank you Buccaneers!

12-3-07: We just received an incredible array of autographed pictures, cards, calendars, playing cards, t-shirts and other material from the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders. They outdid themselves and showed how much they care about our troops. By the way, the Redskins Cheerleaders just came back from a trip to Iraq to visit the troops as well! We are confident that our soldiers will really enjoy these special goodies! Thank you so much Melanie and all the gracious Redskins Cheerleaders.

Other teams already contributing merchandise or committing merchandise include: the NFL (thanks Sarita); the New York Giants; Chicago Bears; N.Y. Jets; New England Patriots Cheerleaders (thanks Lindsay); the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders (thanks Elaine); Miami Dolphins; Cincinnati Bengals; Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers.

And while we're on the subject of the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers, thanks so much to Connie and the entire Seahawks organization and Michele and the entire Steelers organization for their steadfast support. This is the third year in a row the Seahawks and Steelers have stood with us for our troops.

We're also grateful to Trish Stratus, professional wrestler, for her contributions of some pretty cool pictures for our troops! Thanks Trish!
Keep you posted...
