Five Best Buy stores held a day-long event to support Operation NJ Home Front on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The Best Buy WOLF team co-ordinated the event.

Five Best Buy stores in central NJ partnered with Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon to support Operation NJ Home Front. On Saturday, October 18, 2008, the five stores staged a joint event to support the 2008-2009 NJ Army Natl Guard deployment to Iraq. Stores placed bins to collect food, snacks, personal care, electronics, entertainment products and cash donations for our brave NJ civilian warriors outside the stores and provided supplies for visitors to write notes to the soldiers. Crayons were also provided for children, who made cards and drawings for their NJ Heroes.
Best Buy trucked boxes of donated products to Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon on Monday, October 20. Additionally, one of Best Buy's event co-ordinators dropped off cash donations of over $1,300. And on Monday, all the donated food, personal care and entertainment items were shipped to NJ Army National Guard soldiers from armories local to the stores holding the event.
The event was sponsored by the local chapter of WOLF, Best Buy's Women's Leadership Forum. The WOLF mission is to engage and inspire female employees and customers and create new opportunities for leadership, networking and community service. On Tuesday, September 16, 2008, the team met at Best Buy's Somerset, NJ, offices and worked on plans for the event.
Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon will continue to work with the NJ Army Natl Guard to identify Guard units in the area so the customers and employees of Best Buy stores can support their local neighbors during their difficult 2008-2009 deployment in Iraq.
