Flight pillows donated by the NJ Credit Union League were delivered to the 50th IBCT prior to their departure to Iraq. These pillows were gratefully received by our NJ soldiers before they boarded their 23-hr flight to the Middle East.

We're proud to call the New Jersey Credit Union League one of our Special Friends. The League has about 150 member credit unions throughout NJ and is actively soliciting its members to participate in Operation NJ Home Front. Member credit unions will collect goodies to send to the troops and donations to buy much-needed entertainment and personal comfort items to help improve their morale.

The NJCUL has already made a HUGE impact on our NJ soldiers. Thanks to their incredibly generous donation, flight pillows were purchased so that every soldier in the 50th IBCT would have a more comfortable flight to the Middle East. The flight alone is 23 hours and the pillows were all handed out prior to boarding their flights. For more information on the pillows CLICK HERE.

"Our partnership with Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon aims to 1.) support the soldiers in Iraq with care cartons of personal care items, snacks and other goodies to make them feel special and loved and 2.) provide support to families at home who are having difficulties because the man or woman of the house is not around. This could entail everything from raking leaves and cleaning the house to going shopping and picking up laundry, whatever a military family might need," said Candice Areia, Director of Marketing and Communication for the NJCUL.

"We invite all New Jersey credit unions to participate in this effort to ensure that our troops and their families are cared for. The League will provide member credit unions with more information, marketing materials and will serve as a drop-off for items for the care cartons. We encourage all credit unions to participate and to spread the word to its members.

"We recognize and understand how busy everyone is, but letıs not forget about the men and women who put their lives on the line serving America. Letıs rally together and support them."

The NJCUL is already engaged in improving the lives of our brave military men and women overseas. On June 9, 11 and 13, 2008, Paragon Federal Credit Union, MidState Federal Credit Union and ABCO Federal Credit Union, respectively, held special Webcast recording in mobile studios. Families of military men overseas were able to visit the credit unions, record a free 10-minute Father's Day message and have live responses through the Internet.

Here is one message to our troops from the staff at Paragon Federal Credit Union headquarters in Montvale, NJ: CLICK HERE to view! For more details and information visit www.operationbestwishes.com. What a wonderful program! Well done Candice, the New Jersey Credit Union League and participating Credit Unions! Thank  you!

AaSP is proud to have NJCUL as Operation partner and grateful to Paragon Federal Credit Union for leading the way. We are actively working with other organizations and commercial enterprises so that when our brave NJ neighbors and friends get to Iraq a proper support system from AaSP is in place. We solicit everyone in the State of New Jersey to get involved the get behind these wonderful, brave people.

Thanks to Candice, Mary Anne and Melissa for jump starting this alliance!
