They call themselves "Operation 205," and they are more than very enthusiastic about supporting our troops through the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. The team, led by Marilyn Tanner, collected a tremendous amount of goodies for its adopted unit, the 31st Combat Support Hospital in Iraq. Items include DVDs, CDs, Dove care kits, gum, magazines, shampoo and conditioners, soaps, deodorant and more. As of 8-28-07, more than a dozen cartons had already been shipped to Iraq and more are on the way.
Marilyn and the team have some great ideas and a lot of energy. A lot! And they are making a HUGE difference in the lives of the soldiers, medical staff and MPs who support the 31st CSH and the Theater Internment Facility in Baghdad. A huge THANK YOU to all our friends in Chicago at Operation 205!
