Pix above from Craig Joint Theater Hospital. The USTA recently sent a portable tennis kit to our adoptee, MSgt Scott B, and they set up the net inside a hanger and played some tennis! You can see stretchers standing up against a wall in one of the pix. Thanks to our buddy Robin and the USTA for taking care of our warriors!

We have struck up a Special Friendship with the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA). Thanks to Robin Jones, its Manager of National Military Outreach and Kristi Wright, we are reaching out to 1100 of USTA's community programs to afford them the opportunity to support warriors from their state and provide comfort and goodies to our warriors in harm's way. This will also include tennis sets that the USTA will send to our troopers for recreation.
The USTA has a program called "Adopt-a-Unit." The Adopt-a-Unit effort is designed to guide tennis organizations and
players to ‘adopt’ a military unit of approximately 75-100 soldiers
serving in Iraq or Afghanistan by sending care packages of
necessities. In turn, the USTA will send portable tennis equipment to
the adopted unit on your behalf with instructions and educational
information on tennis. The effort allows the tennis community to show
support and to introduce soldiers to a recreational means for
reintegrating with family, friends and community upon their return from
conflict.
Already, the Adopt-a-Unit program is sending goodies to several of our units that have had tragedies this month. As our partnership with the USTA develops, we will provide you with more info but we are thrilled to have the USTA as one of our Special Friends! Thanks Robin and Kristi!
